PS3 barely claimed a victory because Sony is discounting the their console with a hot game while MS is not. if this isn't the case then they won't sell out? The final production of consoles... Microsoft was like a week ahead... So if they produce the same amount... and they are both sold out then what? It kinda looks like microsoft is going to win the attach rate wars yet again.

In an interview a while back one of the Xbox execs said the same thing.
As for why I think Xbox is selling well, it's because there are 80 million Xbox 360's sold to this date.
It's pretty far fetched to believe 1% of them have not preordered the successor.
Not sure why everyone want's to doubt this. MS itself doesn't talk about numbers, they did however tell us a couple months back they passed 360 levels and more recently that the had been approaching 200% 360 pre-order numbers. 360 sold 1.5 million consoles in the month and a bit after launch..and couldn't be found on store shelves after launch for well after the new year. A large majority of that 1.5 million was pre-orders.But oh wait, MS must have been lying when they said they exceeded 36o pre-order numbers.
