The notion that "cloud computing" will help "power" next gen consoles is a holdover from last gen.

as far as I can see Microsoft never claimed the cloud had anything to do with “better graphics” and they aren’t making that claim now.

Oh, but yes way. See, remember when y'all laughed at the kid for talking about the cloud. How it wasn't ready/etc. We all agree that's no longer the case. What you're still not understanding is how that affects this next gen. The series s won't cost alot to make. All these expensive console parts don't apply to cloud computing. So the cloud can essentially help power the series s, series x, xbox one even.
The cloud makes the series s on par if not superior to the ps5. The series x stands alone as the most capable. Always was the plan, all of this was. As I've stated many moons ago, Sony is not future proof. Gaikai was never an option. Laugh now cry later was the mantra entering this current gen. We took an L, but it looks like we'll recover rather nicely

With that said, he is kinda right. If Xcloud matches Series X performance, then essentially 1S would be “more powerful” than PS5

If y'all remember, I copped the Ps4 during launch week and posted my box.
I might be doing the same for Xbox Series X either that or I'll get both.

it's just the next generation of AMD graphics chips. their current chips are RDNA 1 (Radeon DNA), before that it was GCN (Graphics Core Next)

Not only this. It has great improvements like hardware based ray tracing.
Look at this video of minecraft with and without Ray tracing.
We aren't going to have to worry about baked in lighting anymore since light sources will reflect naturally. No other product has been announced to have rdna2 outside of the next xbox. Similar to how the 360 had a gpu stronger than pc at the time, this gpu is taking a similar leap. The ps4/Xbox one were low end/mid end pcs basically. This is a high end pc by comparison because both the gpu and cpu are up to snuff.
