Xbox Series X full specs revealed

Until the PS5 is revealed we don't know everything. I'm saying that a GPU isn't the ONLY thing that is in a system. I'm also saying that pretending that the GPU is going to be leagues ahead of the PS5 GPU when we know they're similar is sounding fanboyish.

We got cats in here talking about "Xbox Series X is the ONLY hardware that's confirmed to have RDNA 2 which ray tracing is a part of" when Mark Cerny already confirmed PS5 will have hardware based Ray Tracing which would point to it being probably RNDA 2 also but nah let's just stick to a rumor that it is only 9TF(as if that's somehow bad) with RDNA1.


If we were talking Nintendo Switch vs Xbox One okay that's something else but we're talking about two systems with both similar hardware from AMD releasing later this year. You got some folks acting like the PS5's GPU is a 2060 vs a 2080 TI or something. Like nikkaz is really reaching hard with the exaggerations when we don't even know the full specs yet. I feel like some cats on here desperately WANT there to be this vast difference for bragging rights.

If I got a 2070 and you got a 2070 TI it ain't really shyt different besides a little small boost. Dudes just saying anything now. shyt is really transparent. They keep pointing to the original PS4 and Xbox and act like it had NOTHING to do with the $100 price difference. If X1 was less than $399 nobody would care about 900P/1080P likewise if a PS5 with the hardware being close to the XsX but $100 cheaper nobody would care but the stans will say it's because the scale isn't in the others favor.

Let's be real tho, a 9.2 tf PS5 for 399 is right up Sony alley.

And that's honestly not a bad proposition if the x is at 499.

I don't think 9.2 is the final number, I do think it was a possibility at one point tho. There are rumors of a revector around 2017/18. Who knows

I'm actually kinda salty about that too, technically by start of next gen consoles will be as powerful or more powerful than my PC (gaming wise)

I've kind of accepted that I'm not going to rebuild a new rig like that again. My pc will just be for basic computing from the couch on the big screen and djing. My laptop is for drawing and working on the dual monitors. I get all consoles and I don't have the time for chasing down drivers, forget about the time for games.

That's the only thing I'm jealous about because my PC is going to have a weaker card than the XsX(I got a 1070) so it'll probably have better graphics like ray tracing and shyt.

There is no way, with Sony's track record, that they won't have a killer exclusive.

Even if they don't have a day one exclusive...you can bet that within the first year, there will be some heavy hitters.

That Series X GPU ain’t fukkin wit my 2080ti brotha. It’s killing the 1070 tho. shyt is gonna be a 2070 equivalent. Maybe closer to 2070 Super. And that’s great. Unless u on the high end of PC gaming the best gaming value would be a Series X over a mid tier PC unless u like customization.

I'm not quoting that post but I'll speak to this. I think that the reason the ps5 was at one point or still is at 9.2TF is because their backwards compatible solution is purely hardware based. They had no idea to know when RDNA2 would be released based on prior AMD roadmaps. Sony needed to take the best hardware out at the time to make sure that compatibility worked. It will likely be a no frills BC solution, maybe some better anti aliasing but that's all I expect. You need silicon early for that, not hypotheticals from AMD. Microsoft does a software and hardware based compatibility solution. That allows for more flexibility. The hardware could be whatever and then the code Microsoft comes up with fills in the blanks. That's why you will see some games go to 4k and maybe 8k on the XSX. My belief that it is higher is simply because it's Sony, one of the best manufacturers of hardware ever. If they can't figure it out, pretty much nobody can.

and the thing is that 12Tf is the theoretical output of the GPU. it could still be limited by power, thermal, and other factors
