Yakuza 3, 4 & 5 being remastered and coming to PS4 in Asia, presumably also coming to the West considering Kiwami did. 3 coming in August; 4 coming in Autumn and 5 next year.

That's great news. Glad the series is getting a second chance.
I've said it a million times, Yakuza crushes Shenmue overall. Shenmue is WAY better fighting mechanics and some the exploration is more in depth with being able to search individual drawers and closets, but outside of that Yakuza > Shenmue in every other way.

Yup. Ryo = Akira from Virtua Fighter.
I wish Yakuza had that level of depth in it's fighting mechanics.
Yakuza gets VERY repetitive as far as that goes. I found myself doing the same few combos and stick to the same fighting style for every single situation.

Was planning on getting a PS3 for Yakuza 4 & 5, wasn't sure on how I could get Yakuza 3 on the cheap but oh well Sega keeps feeding us

The games are basically beat em ups with rpg elements. You don’t level up your character but you can unlock different moves and combos similar to DMC.

That sounds pretty dope - I take a bit of issue with a lot of games, even some of my favorites when it comes to that aspect. It doesn't feel rewarding to kill anything, so why not just run through?
