I never played yakuza, but ive always wanted to. Is the story good?
Really good, start with zero and go from there. I wasn't expecting a good story more so just an action arcade like beatem up. Turned out to be all of the above.

The PlayStation 4 version of Yakuza 4 will launch on January 17, 2019 in Japan, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals.

The magazine also has information about Masayoshi Tanimura, who is one of the main characters of the game. Some of his lines needed to be revised and re-recorded, and since his original voice actor Hiroki Narimiya has since retired from voice acting, his character model and voice actor have been changed. In the PlayStation 4 version of the game, Toshiki Masuda will play Masayoshi Tanimura.

Let's hope...but if Sega are releasing them separately that would be kinda lame, but that means they're updating the translation. So maybe we'll get Yakuza 4 around Christmas or new years and Yakzua 5 next summer :francis:

I can't buy 3,4, or 5 again my backlog is way too big :francis:. I'm glad some of y'all will get to experience it in full 60fps though, I really wish they would have made Kiwami versions especially for 4 :shaq2:

I still need to beat 5 on PS3, haven't touched it since I got to the baseball player's part. I have 0, Kiwami, Kiwami 2, and 6 waiting to be played plus I'll buy Judgment for $20 later this year

Yakuza 3 for PS4 now available in the west; Yakuza 4 and 5 to follow in October and February - Gematsu

The PlayStation 4 version of Yakuza 3 is available now via the PlayStation Store in the Americas and Europe as part of The Yakuza Remastered Collection, Sega announced at Gamescom 2019. The PlayStation 4 versions of Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 will follow on October 29, 2019 and February 11, 2020, respectively.

A “very limited run” physical box set called The Yakuza Remastered Collection: Day One Edition, which includes Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 on two discs, will be released alongside the digital release of Yakuza 5 on February 11, 2020.

Get the details below.

What’s Changed in The Yakuza Remastered Collection?

The Yakuza Remastered Collection is far from a typical console generation port. In addition to graphical and performance upgrades (720p –> 1080p at 30fps –> 60fps), all three games have gone through a rigorous re-localization process. The English scripts for each game have been reviewed, revised, and even rewritten in some cases, and content previously cut from the western releases of Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 have been re-added in The Yakuza Remastered Collection.

In Yakuza 3, this means the Mahjong, Shogi, Massage Parlor, and ever-popular Cabaret minigames, as well as a collection of Substories cut from the original release, are now available in the West for the first time!

Several quality-of-life changes have also been added for each release in the collection, including a Substory tracker on the map and the ability to toggle between English and Japanese written lyrics during Karaoke.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection Release Details:

The Yakuza Remastered Collection is available now digitally for $59.99 and includes Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5—previously only available for PlayStation 3—beautifully remastered in 1080p at 60fps.

Yakuza 3 is available to download and play immediately after purchasing the collection—Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 will become available on October 29, 2019 and February 11, 2020 respectively.

A limited run of The Yakuza Remastered Collection: Day One Edition will release on February 11, 2020 for $59.99, and contains Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 on two disks in a striking red collectible case emblazoned with Kiryu’s trademark dragon tattoo. This release marks the first time Yakuza 5 will be available in a physical format in the west, so the collection also includes a genuine Yakuza 5 PS3 case; after five years since the game’s original release, series collectors can finally fill the gap in their library! Supplies are very limited, so get your order in while supplies last!

The Yakuza Remastered Collection Features:

  • Complete the Journey of the Dragon: The Yakuza Remastered Collection brings the final missing chapters in Kiryu’s story to the PlayStation 4. From Yakuza 0 to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, players can now experience the full story of The Dragon of Dojima, all on a single platform.
  • Remastered and Refreshed: All three games in the collection have received impressive graphical and performance upgrades, from 720p at 30fps to 1080p at 60fps and have also gone through a rigorous re-localization process. Missing content from the original Western releases has been re-added to the remastered versions, and the full English scripts have been reviewed, revised, and had portions rewritten for accuracy alongside the original Japanese releases.
In addition to today’s release of Yakuza 3 / The Yakuza Remastered Collection, a digital bundle called The Yakuza Origins Digital Bundle, which includes Yakuza 0, Yakuza: Kiwami, and Yakuza: Kiwami 2, is available now via the PlayStation Store for $49.99.
