from 4th to 8th I was able to go to a predominantly black private school…the only “white” teacher we had was a light skin indian man lol…when I went to high school, it was back to all white teachers…and it took me about 2 years to adjust to that…many of them were obviously prejudiced

I don’t want to create the impression that white teachers absolutely can’t teach black students bcuz I’ve met some where the black students statistically fare well in their class to the point of performing on par with the white students but we all know that’s not the norm :francis:
Yeah you kind of get the feeling they're afraid to teach black children, and because of this the students grow bored and tune out. They underestimate how perceptive kids are, and don't realize they can see and feel that you don't want to teach them. We had a couple white teachers that were fully invested, and their ability to engage students was reflected in student performance...Which was night and day in comparison to the ones that were there to just catch a check.

This is unquestionably true. I literally got called verbatim a "stupid black boy" by a bytch who was a substitute teacher for no reason at all (not that there is a valid reason to call me that). This bytch literally singled out every black boy in the class and even skipped my childhood friend after she asked if he was African (absolutely no cap). I was scoring 99th percentile on national standardized tests, had the best grades, was reading several grades levels above my own, and was dusting my peers of all races. Want to know the kicker? She was a black woman. This is why I laugh when dudes downplay the black misandry in society, a lot of you truly do not know the level of anti-black male hatred society holds ( even by black women). Divestor rhetoric has been out here for generations as well.

another problem is they “genuinely” feel that black students can’t perform on the same level as white students and as you said the student(s) will pick up on this and become aloof…I’ve had so many arguments with white teachers behind this smdh

I love how they continue to beat dead horses .. we already know. They try and program them while their young. Make sure they know their “bad” and won’t ever be anything . Again, white people are obsessed. However it starts at home .. more folks need to be telling young black boys how DOPE they are and they can/ will amount to wonderful things. Stop letting folks break these boys down before they really even have a chance.

Black men are simply looked at as more threatening in society period and the fact that they are looking at a BOY as a higher threat just confirms what most already knew from firsthand experience.

I want to start off by saying I treated ALL my students the same…everybody got called out for their fukk ups…there was no favoritism or special treatment of anyone…you did the right thing and you were acknowledged for it…you did the wrong thing and I’d let you know…that’s how it was across the board…you know who was most affected by this and had to learn to adjust to that? white girls…they are used to getting a way with A LOT

When presented with the evidence/data those teachers would likely say they didn't falsely accuse the child so it doesn't matter. But if you're focusing harder on the black boy, you're inevitably going to catch him doing something you can paint as disruptive or wrong. Maybe he yawns too long, or laughs too hard. Something is gonna be found. Meanwhile other kids doing similar shyt skate by.

The black woman was looking at the child as much as the white woman btw. Wouldn't be stunned if data showed black male teachers look more at the black boys too; it's an inherent bias instilled at a young age. That being said, consider the academic teachings of much of intersectional black feminism today which essentially uses racist black pathology to demonize black men as abusers. If you subscribe to those views, imagine how you treat black boys in a class room. This shyt exists within academia and no one is saying anything. It eventually has real world implications.
