Nas is that dude but he needs better production, that's what makes his music boring as shyt sometimes.

A lot of rap, and art, esp. music, and fashion are going to be time sensitive....At the time, in 2002, Eminem was one of the hottest producers, or at least very in demand, and his sound was everywhere. I never liked Eminem as a rapper, outside a margin of his material, but I liked his beats...Those brooding, dark beats, which were sometimes grating and grew stale a year or two removed, with some exceptions....I don't think 'The Cross' is a great beat, and I don't really fukk with it much now, but in 2002? It was solid enough to be played, esp. considering the context of the album, and Nas lyrics.
