Catering for 30+ people....ehh that doesn't sound terrible.

The price isn't the issue for me. My issue is a lot of these independent chefs drown their food in salt. Especially for soul food, seafood, and Mexican food. When you can basically see the congealed sugar in the candy yams (not to mention the marsh mellows) you know you're looking at death. Same with mac n cheese that's overly greasy due to too much butter. And then there's the overly seasoned chicken.

:manny:my brother that's commerce. We don't consider the psychological aspects of being a salesman when it comes to white folks and other groups shyt, but now we gotta be Sigmund Freud for our own if their work is proven to be up to par?

I promise we do.

And it’s not even white folk. Carribean food has never been as overpriced as American black food despite being just as good and hefty portions. Thai food always hits the spot and is never overpriced like this. Mexican, Peruvian chicken spots, etc.

It is only black folk that price food like this.

I have a big family, we have holiday gatherings where there might be 50 people. Im usually the cook and i have the largest house so we cook for a ton of people twice a year. This aint 700 dollars worth of food.

Cabbage is literally the cheapest side you can buy. Its 3 bucks a head at Aldis. That might be 4 heads of cabbage, i put ACV, brown sugar and pepper in mine. That pan is 15 bucks....MAX.

That might be 80 wings. Lets say its 100. I can buy a case of wings for 100 bucks. Flour, seasonings, oil will bring it to 130, fukk it ill round it up to 150

Mac N cheese can get pricey because of the cheese. I freshly shred mine but if she buys shredded it cheaper than block cheeses I use because its lower quality, whipping cream, eggs, noodles. Noodles are cheap, whipping cream is cheap, eggs are expensive but you need only a half a dozen (5 bucks) lets say you buy 10 lbs of cheese, it costs 50 bucks. And assuming shes using 10lbs of cheese per pan (shes not) You can use alot of the same ingredients from the chicken (flour, salt, pepper, paprika etc.) You looking at around 100 bucks for 2 pans. Again fukk it i will round it wayyy up to 150

Im being super generous on the estimates.

Cabbage-15 bucks
Wings-150
Mac n Cheese 150

Price 315. She upcharging like a mufukka

Okay let’s do the math: 5 pans for $700 = $140 per pan. I can tell those are shallow style 20.5 inch by 12.5 inch disposable aluminum serving pans. The area of each pan is 12.5 x 20.5, or 256.25 square inches. A standard serving spatula is meant to serve a 4 inch by 4 inch square of food. 4 inches x 4 inches equals 16 square inches. 256.25 sq/in divided by 16 sq/in equals 16 standard servings per pan. $140 divided by 16 servings equals $8.75 per 4 inch x 4 inch standard serving. What an absolutely outrageous ripoff!!!!!!
