Typical east coast biased answer. The only artist makin grimey music on the east at that time was DMX. U act like the west coast as a whole forgot how to make good music.

Im calling a spade a spade. There were other artist making grimey music during those times. East coast music basically defines grimey so what is you saying nicca. The west fell off thats the nitty gritty of it

delusional westcoast mfs thinking they were relevant pass 98

:bryan:

Yeah ok. Anyways.. u obviously don't know your hip hop to make a dumb zz statement like tht. But whatever. The main question of this thread that u and some other posters refuse to adress or aknowlege is which side was really out there ridin the hardest. The east coast for the most part was silent. Pac/death row had nyggaz shook.

fakkits never get tired of going at my old city....

lol you west coast nikkas are hilarious. Lemme shut ya bullshyt down once and for all:

- the mere fact that even after all these years y'all nikkas are still crying about us not giving you the time of day way back when shows you still value our opinion of you. the reason why y'all was so salty was because you looked up to us and tried to imitate us in the beginning and we wasn't having it and rightly dismissed y'all. then westcoast started acting like a bitter dude that got rejected by a chick. :umad:

- your 'best' diss record that y'all drool over so much features a rapper originally from the east coast who used to go by the name of MC New York and a bunch of sellout fakkits from Jersey who ain't relevant anymore....go figure.

- y'all forgetting that even on that same record Pac couldn't help but give props to groups like Smiff N Wessun and even did a whole album with them and Buckshot who happens to come from a borough with more lyrical skill and classics than anywhere in LA.

- Mobb Deep went at ya boy HARD on Drop a Gem on em, and to be honest I felt cheated when pac died cos I was hoping to see his ass get lit up by them QB boys

- Snoop Dogg himself said him and dogg pound would have never been stupid enough to risk their lives and come to new york to talk shyt. they couldn't even stay in a hotel in new york and when they did that video it was right in tourist and police filled Times Square of all places. they knew goddamn well they would have got murked filming that bullshyt in Brownsville or somewhere in Harlem. oh yeah, you know Kurupt was in a group with Canibus and Killah Priest right?

- Westside Connection talked shyt about the east coast yet ya boy Mac 10 been riding Fat Joe's dikk for the longest

- Face it, if groups like Wu-tang, MOP, Boot Camp Clik, Jeru etc started to go at y'all, you corny ass jheri curled nikkas wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes and would have been begging us for respect

- you cornballs get gassed up by the source awards and a few old interviews and wack ass songs and really think you ever scared New York lol? find a video of any west coast 'emcee' talking shyt in a New York HOOD in front of residents and get back to me.

- Name ONE west coast group that could ever destroy the Juice Crew lyrically?

I could go on and on.

one more thing....WE STARTED THIS HIP HOP shyt!!! deal with it, ok blooooood??

Both coast lost. The east coast is wack now. The best east coast rapper, Nas, don't even live there like that. The only place that wacker than the east coast now is the west coast. You know why? You let them terrible ass southern rappers with those bullshyt rhymes and slows ass beats steal the show. Chi-town was keepin it real though until this weak ass Chief Keef dude came out. Now we will fall off next.

From 91 till 96, The West had 'it' in terms of influence. They had the advantage since NWA dropped nikkaz 4 Life and they were stomping the east until Pac died. Sure, I grew up on the classics of the east, but even I gotta admit that the west had them commercially and on the hood movie tip (Boyz in Da Hood and Menace II Society)
