Very similar to @dj-method-x . I have one foot out of the door.
Long story short, I was hoping to take redundancy once the pandemic started. They were laying off so many people I was praying I was next. I’ve been at my company for so long, I knew my redundancy package would be
They called me Into the office. I was there all giddy waiting to be let go. They told me instead they wanted to keep me on as I was a valuable member of the team.
The way my hopes were dashed within a minute. They offered me a huge wage increase, but I said only if I could work from home on a permanent basis. Somehow, they agreed.
Now I only work 2/3 days a week. They’ve essentially paid me extra from the employees they laid off. Quitting makes no sense as I can now focus on my other businesses (mainly real estate). If I quit now, I’d lose a lot of benefits. Plus, I get paid to sit on my ass most of the work day.
I’m still hoping they make me redundant at this point. So we’ll see.
