I recognize the '92 Dream Team is the greatest team ever...but some of what I have been hearing in the press and from the players seems a little over the top. 25? I dont know about Pip. You got some interesting matchup issues...if it is CP3, Kobe, Bron, Tyson, and Durant v. MJ, Magic, Barkley, Malone and Ewing...right off the top I dont like Magic on CP3. And just one game would be corny...lets say the best 3 out of 5...MJ is the GOAT but Kobe would be the toughest matchup MJ has EVER had in a series.

And who is going to guard Bron? You actually might have to take Malone out and put in Pip. Ewing dominates Tyson. Barkley is going to hve a real tough time with Durant since he likes the outside so much...but at the same time Barkley might break Durants ribcage in the paint.

My point is this is not a slaughter like mny are making it out to be. Some people sound like its a comparison between the '92 Dream Team and the 2011-2012 Cavaliers.

Above is a diagram of an official FIBA basketball court. It's different from the NBA. Do you see how the lane widens as you get closer to the basket? This means NBA 7 footers can't establish their normal post position. If they did they would be called for 3 seconds every possession.

In FIBA they would have to post far from the basket, so far to the point that it doesn't make sense to post that type of player that far from the cup. Andrew Bynum is very limited when catching the ball 10 feet from the basket. Conversely, he wouldn't be playing low post D either. He'd have to come out and challenge shooters on defense, another part of the average NBA center's game that isn't a strength. The typical NBA center doesn't really have a place in the FIBA game.

That's why foreign big men come over with a much better skill set than American big men. Even 7'-5" Yao Ming came over here hitting mid range jumpers, 80 plus from the line. Dirk the 7 foot Reggie Miller, Sabonis was a 7'-3" Magic. Now obviously those guys were some of the best, but everyone else plays the same type of game just obviously not on as great a level. Like how we have our Kobes and then our Harold Miners over here.

Ok, let's think about something here. The 92 team beat Croatia both games by 30 points. So if anyone truly believes that this 2012 team would lose by just about the same amount.....you have got to be shytting me! To me, it would be a close game, and the points have been laid out numerous times on here. Yes, the 92 team's biggest advantage is at center, while the 2012's best advantage is with the quickness on the perimeter. We saw Bobby Hurley running circles around Magic in that documentary, and everybody knows at that stage Magic wouldn't stop those guards from penetrating. I'm sorry, I have to laugh when people think Pippen would just "shut down" Kobe or Bron like it's just that easy to shut down two of the greatest scorers of all time. I even heard one dude break the match ups down and said that Barkley would be able to guard Durant. Lol, what the fukk? Barkley never played defense.

And will people stop saying that Magic would be guarded by Chris Paul or Deron Williams! You don't have to guard pg vs. pg and sg vs. sg. The defensive match ups would vary depending on who is on the floor. I would give a small edge overall to the 92 team, but it would be close no matter what.

SO who would guard magic? LEBRON? FINE. then who's guarding Pippen? mismatch city. KD cant play defense on anyone with scoring ability. so he would get torched. melo is a complete non defender. TORCHED.
