So there's a woman I still have on FB, we graduated high school like 7 years ago together.

She went to a college in a city close to mine but she dropped out after her first semester. Now fast forward 6 years later

I ran into her earlier this year and she was waiting tables at a regular restaurant.

I hit her up on FB, led to small talk, where she said she's almost been to all 50 states in 3 years and she told me I need to get out the state.

I told her I'd loved to travel but idk how to find the time and money, and if she had suggestions let me know. She took offense like I was saying she ain't have shyt going on in life or she was broke. She wouldn't tell me how to finesse.

Yet every other month she's traveling! So I thought she may be an IG thot, or getting sponsored but she's only got like 400 friends, yet she can't make more than 10-15 an hr. How is she traveling so much?

don't y'all travel? have passports? i'm at the point where I don't even consider it vacation if i don't leave the country. not to be on some bragging shyt, but because it's so fukking easy and cheap to travel




first off... how is she getting there? you can get a train or bus any damn where for cheap... or rent a car for $28 dollars a day and all you gotta pay is gas... or just drive your own. IF you need a plane ticket, check spirit.. i once flew from dc to wisconsin for TWENTY 28 MOTHERfukkING DOLLARS


next... where to sleep.. why are you getting a hotel? why are you getting a nice hotel? $80 a night for somewhere you not even going to be in 90% of the time, cause you should be out exploring this place you're visiting. you can usually rent a room on airbnb for 30-60 bucks a night... a whole damn house for the same price as a hotel


this is where you say roaches and blah blah..... this shyt is $65 a night in fukking new york city of all places. so imagine what you can get in some off brand spot or 20-30 mins outside the city

next... find people to travel with.. you going to rent an entire house.. be nice to split up those 3 bedrooms for 120 a night, with 3 nikkas... you paying 120 for an entire big ass house, instead of paying 240 for 3 nights alone in a 80 hotel


finally.... stop doing all the side shyt and make traveling your focus

you go out to eat lunch at work... that's probably 50-100 a WEEK right there... not counting other meals you eat out

you go out to the bar/club have a few drinks.. there's another 50-100 with gas, fee, drinks, more food after the club


smoke a lot of weed.... well there you go

always doing something with a bytch... yup


etc etc etc



then you realize also some of these people living with moms or roommates or just don't have a bunch of bills



it's easy to take a quick 2-3 day trip once a month... shyt you don't even need to use vacation time.. just leave friday after work and be back sunday night


now is this what everyone wants to do with their lives... of course not. but lets not act like it's anything difficult to do. a little penny pinching and a lot of staying your ass inside when you're in your hometown, will allow you to travel and do things all over

i say it all the time. you might never see me out in the local club.. but you damn sure going to see me in brazil next week

nikkas is scrambling, no money to do what they really want, no planning around an event that's going on during the vacation, and usually just end up doing the same thing at home, getting drunk, chasing bytches and trying to fukk that night.... don't spend $400-500 on that shyt

for that you could spend a weekend or damn near a week in PR, DR, the caribbean... something else.. get way more bang for your buck, and have it planned out ahead of time so you know the best spots to be, what it's going to cost, and what you want to do with your time


finding like minded travelers will ALWAYS be the hardest part. they have groups on fb for travelers.. just chop it up and talk to people. you'll find people who think like you and will be down to share an airbnb.

if not, go with your girl or go alone.. don't waste your life waiting around for other nikkas.. i got 4 brehs i travel with. if 3 can't go, i'm going.. they'll make the next one.. maybe it'll be 2 of us.. or 3.. or all.. or i'll go alone.. or i'll bring my girl, or we all bring our girls. however it shakes down. but we going somewhere


but none of them are my local friends.. NONE.. known and lived by my best friends for 15 damn years and we never been past 3-4 states together and that's in a car, usually something i planned. but these nikkas always on that "yea i'm going on the next one" talk. you wait on them and you'll end up just like them

If you ever travel to cac backpack destinations like Nepal you will see these nikkas. I was in little ass Costa Rican towns like montezuma and would see college aged white cac bytchs who had been backpacking for months on like $3 a day and what not. If it's possible internationally surely it is domestically
