Maybe it's just DFW area, but there's no old school car washes being built anymore. And by old school i mean, 4 quarters for 3 mins, you wash your own car with the power wand.

But every week there's a new drive thru car wash opening for $8-10, which doesn't include any wheel cleaning (that's another $3) or anything other than driving ur car thru and then the auto-dry.

That's wild to me, bc these things usually don't clean your car that well if it's dirty. Who's paying $10-12 to wash their car regularly, when you can do it for $1-2 on your own. And do it better.

Guess I'll keep hand-washing/scrubbing in my driveway and going to the last few remaining manual car washes to rinse.

same thing in GA. seems as if every new business opening is a gas station or a car wash. there is one old school car wash not too far from the house though

:gucci: Weird rant, most of these drive thru washes are subscription based. Mine here is $15/month for unlimited washes

Whenever I go into the office, I drive by and get my car washed. Plus they have free vacuums. :manny: Not a bad deal to me.

Whitewater Express - they’re in many states …

Drive through - pay $24-$35 - get your car washed as many times a month as you want … a great wash, ceramic coating etc.

Unless it’s touchless, you hate your vehicle going through a car wash. Just go to Forest Car Wash off Forest Ln if you still in Dallas. They hand wash your car if you request it

yep. there are two of the same company's carwashes on one street near me

I prefer a DIY in the driveway or the old school touchless like OP is talking about. I used to take my truck to some migos but they would leave swirl marks. Best bet for a great car wash is a GOOD detail place. But if you don't really care about swirl marks and stuff like that, go to the drive thru

I still wash my truck by hand. I use an ounce or two of Blue Coral wash and wax in a five gallon bucket of water and it gives me high quality results, a workout and saves me hundreds of dollars a year.
You see dudes washing vehicles like this in the beginning of Nas 'One Love' vid. I started doing it decades before that.

The gas station closest to my house growing up had an automatic car wash. This was 90's-early 00's. My sister and I used to love it.

There was a rumor years ago that car washes are a great way to launder money.
I think I first heard about it when Lenny Dykstra was getting busted for all his schemes because he owned a few of them.

Anyway car washes probably are overpriced.
Car fanatics will probably tell you that car washes are bad for your car and doing a manual wash is better. But I guess these days aint nobody got time for all that.

I remember as a kid my uncles would take an afternoon and apply turtle wax on their car. Talk about a long process...
