Y'all ready to admit that Jay really did take that L from the Rocafella Fallout?

Jay isn't losing sleep. More importantly than the masters to Reasonable Doubt, he owns his publishing which is what really makes him his money when dealing with music. He'll eventually own the Masters, but you're making it seem like Jay is :to: when in reality right now he's more than likely looking for a Shooting Guard to manage.

:heh:

Jay tried to trade his lifes work for the masters to one album and you're on some

"oh jay isn't losing sleep, he got his publishing, and he looking for basketball players to be an agent for... he aint worried at all "

In hindsight, Dame is the one who took the L because he never flourished with the company when Jay left and Jay didn't leave Rocafella empty handed / broke. I just don't see how Jay took an L if it's just him not getting his Masters. Sh*t, some of the biggest artists in history don't own their Masters, the labels do.

In the end, Rocafella doesn't define Jay (as we clearly see today). It was an era in his career that he's moved on from while Dame is struggling to maintain a roof over his head.

How did Dame take the L?

Dame left Rocafella, he sold his stake in it.....are you trying to rewrite history now?

Jay took the L, cause the label didn't own the Masters to RD, Biggs/Dame and Jay did.... how did you win, when they both refused to sell their pieces of it?

What does it say when you can't trade your masters, your stake in the label, your President/CEO Position at Def Jam and Everything else..for the masters to one album?

As long as Jay raps, and Reasonable Doubt has any significance in hip hop, Dame and Biggs won.

stop trying to spin this into something that it wasn't.

He lost to me because let's say the Roc lasted. He would be getting his own money, part of the Dipset money, the Philly boys money, Kanye and whoever else they signed. I wouldn't give a damn if Cam was the VP or if Dame was making all of the decisions without consulting me. That's less work I got to do and as long as the work getting done I'm still getting paid from it. As long at the paperwork straight and I get a piece of everything then I'm good. Let Dame run the show, what the hell do I care?

But thats a big IF. One thing history has proven time and time again is these rap dynasties, crews, and cliques DONT last. Was true with Death Row, Bad Boy, Ruff Ryders, So So Def, No Limit, RapAlot, G-Unit, Aftermath, the list goes on. Now can these labels rejuvenate and re-brand themselves sure (which is what Jay did with Roc Nation). But then he wouldnt be making money from Dipset and State Property.

Im sure Jay is more than happy to trade Rihanna, Kanye West, J.Cole for insubordinate nikkas like Dipset and nikkas who cant stay outta trouble (State Prop) less headache and more money.

ni66s young n dumb.. JAY OWNS ALL HIS MASTERS

The infamous 'split' occurred when it was revealed that Carter, Dash and Burke had sold their 50% interest in Roc-A-Fella Records to Def Jam Recordings, making the label full owners. As President, Carter retained control of the Roc and his masters, ousting his two former partners. He later explained that he had offered to turn down the position and ownership for the masters to Reasonable Doubt alone:

So I was like, let me get Reasonable Doubt and I’ll give up [the rest of] my masters. I’ll give up Roc-A-Fella Records, I’ll give up president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings—everything. Just give me my baby to hold on to so 10 years down the line, I can look back and I got something—I’m not empty-handed. And I was the one being offered everything. I thought it was more than fair... And when that was turned down, I had to make a choice. I’ll leave that for the people to say what choice they would’ve made. That’s about it. I don’t really wanna talk about Dame or Biggs. I don’t have nothing negative to say about them.

That was like nearly 10 years ago, Jay's wealth has quadrupled in size since then. While he may be bitter about the principle of the whole Reasonable Doubt deal, he's certainly not hurting like Dame & Biggs.

Plus his new deal with Time Warner, as far as publishing goes, is going to be very lucrative for him. I don't see how he takes one L in this situation

Ice Cube takes the L for dropping that piece of sh1t single "Crowded" which might be the worst song in West Coast HipHop history.
