Make my own sauce using Italian stewed tomatoes Italian seasonings...Creole seasoning l Mrs dash herbs and onions garlic and a pinch of sugar and a splash of Tabasco Sauce and then if I really wanna get nasty...a dash of liquid smoke pecan wood.![]()

And you just mash the tomatoes up after it been simmering for 1hr. No need for tomatoes sauce but you can add tomatoes paste if you want it rustic and flavorful...I forgot to add that in my recipe

Nope. Not at all. You simmer it enough the tomatoes get thick as it breaks down. I always finish it with the lid off for about 15 mins to run off any excess water from the stewed tomatoes. I like chunky pizza sauce and the flavor of the liquid smoke mixed with the cheeses isIs it runny without the paste?
