As everyone's said already wrestling was so big in the late 90s and that video goes to show it. Some time after the Invasion/Brand Split started, I realized only a few of my boys were still watching.

I feel like The Rock leaving full time had a lot to do with kids in my school slipping off of wrestling. It just wasn't fun once Austin walked out and Rock left.

These kids don't know how fukkin huge the WWE was back in the AE good god. RAW and Smackdown used to be something the entire family watches and that shyt was vulgar as hell.

Now you cut on the actual "family friendly" RAW and they look at you like :francis: "Ain't the Westminister Dog Show supposed to be on?"

nikka you telling me, when I was younger me and my family used to watch wrestling religiously; even my parents were obsessed with it.

I visited the folks other week and put Raw on and they looked at me like :dahell: "The fukk you watching this shyt? Get this shyt off my TV, it's nothing compared to the old days" :beli:

They be like "bu-bu-but the matches are better bu-bu-but NXT":mjlol:

NXT sums up one of the main problems with modern WWE. The in ring wrestling is THE shyt; but everything else is weak, where is the entertainment? Where are the characters and blood feuds?

There are some nikkas on here who thought Zayn/Owens could be the next Austin/Rock :what:

It can, with a less cultural impact of course, but unfortunately WWE doesn't have that drive and desire to make their product big in the Entertainment world again. Yeah 85,000 for Mania is impressive but the ratings still shyt, a majority of the world don't know who the WWE World Champ is unless it's Brock or Cena

It's always funny seeing mainstream in wrestling from back then in comparison to now. Back then, wrestling was something naturally and legitimately accepted in the media, and for almost 10 years (well, maybe even longer), the WWE has practically had to beg and plead for acceptance. The embarrassing peak of that was during those Raws where they had the Million Dollar Giveaways. They were legit trying to buy viewers/ratings. You can't get any lower than that. Today you pretty much have to hide the fact that you like wrestling, because you could flip to any random segment and you're sure to see something totally hokey and embarrassing that would give non-wrestling fans every reason to feel out they do. Back then, literally everybody was talking about it everywhere you went in the open.
