:whoa:

So ghetto, Dope man, Big Pimpin, Come and Get me is all better than anything on MCHG by miles.
Not gonna retract my statement, just cautiously disagree. Vol3 had more skippers, but had more gems so I can understand what you mean.

MCHG is lacking in classic tracks, it's just not his best material. But on average it's a better album, more put together, more thought through. After listening to hova song intro I still don't understand how the fukk he 180d the direction of that project by track four. Second half of vol 3 shoulda been it's own project.

Montreal
Picasso baby, especially the outro.
Heaven
Part 2
JayZ Blue
Nicles and Dimes

These songs are better than anything on Kingdom Come except the intro. Better than most of BP3, except Real As It Gets, ESOM, Already Home, On To The Next One.

Y'all need to stop tryna make MCHG was Trash happen
MCHG was a good album he was able to be grown and still have a current sound,I wasnt mad at that

These things ruined what could've been a great album:

1) Justin Timberlake is the first voice heard on the album. This otherwise dope song isn't strong enough as an Intro song on a Jay Z album considering his other Intro songs.

2) The production in the commercial sounded much doper than the final product. The beats in the commercial sounded dirtier and hit harder and the ones on the album sound toned down.

3) Jay's flow sounds off on some songs (second verse of "Tom Ford", second verse of "Versus").

4) Lyrically, it's probably Jay's weakest album even though there are some gems on it.

So you comparing his wack shyt to his other wack shyt like it means anything.:russ:
Pretty much. As far as underwhelming post retirement allbums go, its way better than kingdome come. And more interesting than bp3 which had solid songwriting and hits.

i enjoyed it :yeshrug:the songs where he showed some maturity are the ones i still listen to.

Me too. Probably his most ballin album. I think the way the internet works, something drops, we get reactionary quick takes, the narrative sets in etc. Same happened with watch the throne. Came out when the occupy wsll street moment hit, so cats weren't feeling the sentiment of balling out nikkaz. And mchg was like wtt on steroids in terms of opulence. Even questlove was writing essays hating on its extravagance.

I always felt jay was the most honest rapper, because his story at this point rubs a lot of people the wrong way. He could pander like Bruce springsteen, a ballin cat singing to the working class.

let's be honest,

that album gets critique'd the hardest BECAUSE it was basically the most bootlegged album of all time. So more listeners means more opinions.

But top 3 songs, in no order....

BBC - Jay and Nas on a track
FUTW - c'mon now, this track goes lyrically and the message
FWMyouknowI... - don't front on this song either

The outro Picasso Baby is dope, Tom Ford was good, and Oceans is dope too.

My only thing is, Jay's voice didn't sound inspired on it like he did on Watch the Throne. And the beats, which they said they went for a minimalist approach, are just too light for me. They wanted to create a "timeless" sound Jay said, but to me they just don't hit hard enough.
