The Yankees powers that be have been pissing off the fan base for years now....eventually it was going to catch up. Baseball just doesnt have the same juice it once had in the city. Maybe if the Mets get good again they'll be some buzz but the Yanks are just :flabbynsick:

The stubhub thing, the absurdness of the new stadium, old players....what'd they think was going to happen?

Huge reach.

That's like me saying football has no juice in the city when you see how empty Met Life Stadium will be this fall when the Jets play.

Die hards of both NY teams are incredibly pissed off at the ownership groups of both teams. They built two stadiums and priced out most fans. Die hards aren't opening their wallets anymore because they see how little ownership feels about the fans. Combine that with a weak roster and cold weather when you don't want to give money to the ownership group to begin with, it's a recipe for low attendance.

I gotta say the rivalry is definitly lacking this year. First year of my life I allowed myself to have a Red Sox on my fantasy team because I really don't give a shyt about them at the moment. But when both teams are competitive again it will be back to:pacspit:.

As for the Stadium for the people who are not Yankee fans who don't know whats up it's because no one likes the new Stadium it sucks. The security badgers you for cheering or standing up when at the old one you could go wild and have no issues. I don't know one person who likes it my dad and his buddy use to go to atleast 15 games a year plus postseason and I think they've gone twice since the new stadium. Same with me and my friends.

The Yankees brass made this stadium to pat themselves on the back at not with the Yankee fan in mind. You think the hardcore fan cares about steaks and resturants? Or the opened up stadium that kills out noise when the real fans wouldn't leave there seat for a second anyway. The Yankees really dropped the ball and didn't connect with the real fan and your seeing the affects.

of course when teams suck the juice goes away....but ppl just dont give a shyt about baseball that much anymore.

If the Jets were to go on a playoff run like they did a few years ago the city goes nuts.

Yankee Stadium was empty for playoff games last year. It sucks, but the Yankee FO is slowly destroying the product.

The city goes crazy every 20 years when the Mets are good too, 2006 the city was had just as much buzz as the Jets did when they made their run a couple of years ago. It's not that people in the city don't care about Baseball anymore it's their hate for the ownership groups. You have have ownership groups that priced out most middle class fans and then trot out a garbage product and you expect people to be excited ? Speaking from a Met fan perspective because a lot of what you guys are saying about the Yanks is what Mets fans have been saying about the Wilpons for the past several years, it fukking kills me that I have no urge to go to Mets games or support the team. But I can't stomach giving my hard earned money to scum like the Wilpon's. It has nothing to do with not liking Baseball as much.

They deserve it for the outrageous long term deals they gave out to players I their mid thirties. Nobody approaching or in their thirties should never get more than a four or five year deal yet Yankees were handing out huge long term contracts with no repercussions...

Why is cash an still around?

I agree if the Mets have a chance to make the playoffs in September there will be a lot of excitement and rightfully so.

in 2009 the Yankee playoff run was pretty fun....the Angels ALCS was the loudest I've heard the new Stadium with CC on the mound in game 6.
