Yao Ming is a 1st ballot HOFer? Ahead of Chris Webber? Really? The NBA is a f*cking joke...

are pretty recent and never worked in the NBA. And I know a bunch of European dudes that you probably never heard of, are in it.

Don't hate on Yao, hate on the system if you really don't like it.

breh, Calipari's Nets coaching record was abysmal. He was only there for 2 and a quarter seasons/ Safe to say that hurt his HOF chances more than it helped
yao ming was only playing in the nba for 9 seasons

9 seasons son

Cut it out already. Webber was talented, put up good numbers. No one is arguing against that. But was he the face of basketball in his country? Did he take the NBA to international TV markets? He can't say yes to those questions like Yao can.

Webber didn't win a championship after high school. He came close to one, but

:childplease:

His prime was comparable to the prime of any C not named Shaq.

He averaged a career double-double and almost 2 blocks a game.

He could bang on the inside, had a good midrange shot and was a good free throw shooter.

If he didn't have constant foot injuries, we'd argue he was the best center since Shaq.
Bullshyt.

His prime isn't Olajuwon's, Robinson's, Ewing's, Abdul-Jabbar's, Chamberlain's, Duncan's, etc., etc.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
First off, here are his career stats after 9 years in the NBA.

Points 9,247 (19.0 ppg)
Rebounds 4,494 (9.2 rpg)
Blocks 920 (1.9 bpg)

Damn near double-double.

Second, it is the Basketball Hall of Fame. NOT the NBA Hall of Fame. EVERYTHING counts. High School. College. International. Professional (from any country). Everything.

Here are Yao's achievements.

He earned his spot.

Webber and Yao's stats are pretty close. Granted, Webber played longer, which affects his stats.

However, as great as he was, Webber doesn't have any key wins in his resume. No MVP. No NBA titles. No FIBA championship. No NCAA titles.

That's what's holding him back. He will make it to the Hall, most def.

When has that ever mattered? A beast is a beast and Webber was a beast. When ever they post a list of major games by a big, Webber is always in there. He need sto be in, and I think he will eventually.

I HATE that "impact" is now a major accomplishment, and more herald than actual numbers.

It always mattered. It can be the difference between being a 1st ballot hall of famer, and a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th ballot.

I'm not saying C-Webb isn't deserving of the hall. Not only will he get in, he absolutely deserves to get in as well. But there is a reason why he wasn't a 1st ballot HOFer.

I hope he gets in soon. I don't want them to pull a Bernard King on him, who was, imho, a great player, but had to wait a long time finally get in the hall.
