Drake doesn't write raps but will go down as a top 10 rapper DOA. i dont agree with it, but the writing is on the wall :manny: Best thing Mos said was at the very end of the clip. Fans just wanna bang the poms poms.

Mos def is original backpack, ofcourse he ain’t fukkin with the mainstream bs

However, I do think it should be noted that multiple legends don’t fuk with drake’s music at all.
And that's the shyt. The "culture" is so far gone and it's all thotrap, mumble shyt and spin the block music, that they forgot that the current state of things isn't normal. So of course anyone speaking out will be considered a "hater".

You have to expect that rappers who are cut from a certain cloth are gonna have a similar answer when asked about Drake. Mos went light. KRS a probably just do a freestyle diss then and there. :pachaha:

Drake is a student of the game, above average lyricist but he always wanted to be pop at some point. Hits and longevity made him a legend.

But we knew this already, however let's not overlook the fact that Mos Def tried to go pop in the mid 2000's but got clowned by everyone including his friends. Namely Talib Kweli on "Hip Hop Worth Dying for":

'Mos Def's alright, but what's up with his leather suit/ I see him on stage singing and doing rock covers.fukking Cocksucker'

Furthermore mos def's idea of what hip hop is sucks and is outdated, it's mainly for boomers who complain about how great shyt was in their day

I hate how sensitive nikkas acting over this :dead: everybody aint gotta fukk wit Drake :manny:
No one cares he doesnt like drake. Saying drake isnt hip hop is factually incorrect and a dumb take. It is simply a genre classification. The majority of Drake's catalog is hip hop.

You actually have to be skilled and rooted in a pillar based skill in hiphop to be apart of hiphop. Last I checked. Drake was just a voice over classically trained actor. That they handed rap lyrics to.
similar to a voice over actor. reading for a voice over role.
on a studio soundstage set of a pixar movie.

There is nuffin culturally rooted in hiphop.
nor is there any real cultural based pillar or skill.
Centered around hiphop about drake as an artist.
Besides simple sellout culture theif style misappropriation.
