Trae had an incredible year he dropped the whisper flow, came correct, dropped one of the best mixtapes of the year and bodied all his features.

Lets not even talk about the underground/less known releases this year... young scooter, don trip, alley boy, OJ, bricksquad, DJ paul, Project Pat, starlito, zed zilla, trouble all dropping heat even if not a lot of people checking for them.

The mid-2000's was The South peaking commercially, but The South still has a tight stronghold on Hip Hop. Although, the door is more open now for more regions to shine than it was, a lot of the new artists are heavily influenced by The South despite where they are from (ASAP and Kendrick).
