Years later. How we feel about AI thus far? Has it been underwhelming and overrated?

You took my input to come up with a rap song that ranthe chart in both 24 and 25 and your forum clapback was "well actually its was only 53 weeks through both 24 and 25, but not last week so rap isn't popular, or creative or entertaining"

Which makes no sense :dead:

These are our coli AI Users yall :francis:
there is currently no rap song in the top 50. I didn't scroll past that, but I wouldn't be surprise if it's not in the top 100.

Kendrick's diss was the last creative rap song I've heard, and how long ago was that?

I think you should start using AI.

AI didn't tell you that song was this year? how is this year not current? Maybe you should start understanding AI :dwillhuh:
You hop skipped your ass into a conversation calling rap the most creative genre of all.

Rap dominates youth culture and streaming platforms, yes — but not all markets or demographics.

Rap absolutely innovates — it reshapes language, flow, rhythm, and production.
But saying it’s more creative than every genre (that it even samples from) ignores other ecosystems of creativity.

Rap has been one of the most influential, culturally dominant, and creatively resilient genres of the 21st century, and has also been the most stagnant in the past decade.

I do that on here from time to time. Be having folks telling AI to understand AI better. Telling me I wrote a prompt wrong when the prompt was their response. Full blown conversation and I haven't touched my keyboard since entering "refute input" an hour ago . :heh:

Honestly ChatGPT is the only one I use and it's marvelous. It helps with all sorts of things. The most recent things I've used it for are medical condition awareness, recovery plans, resume assistance, interview prep and dosage calculations.

BUT I also recently discovered another benefit...I use it as a gossip friend.

:dead:

I know it's weird but I have a lot of energy and tend to "over think" things. I only use that word because it's what other people would describe it as. I don't consider it over thinking. I consider it thoroughly examining a subject.

So when my friends and family get tired of a subject I still want to discuss I go to ChatGPT and I can discuss the same topic for as long as I please. It remembers details over time and can take different conversations into consideration.

Honestly most people can't hold an interesting conversation with any depth to save their lives. I know how to get them through it but attention spans are seriously lacking.

I tried to talk to my co worker about a date she was going on. OMG I had to keep leading her back to the subject and she kept talking about 2 minutes too long. I literally had to summarize her thought for her.

Not an issue with ChatGPT. It actually has in depth responses and insights. It also will make recommendation on where the conversation can go that I hadn't considered.

Not a replacement for good conversation and good company but if you're like me and don't want to exhaust, the people around you with topics that don't interest them it's amazing.

PS Asking it's prospective on dating is hilarious. It's ability to grasp human interpersonal relationships and socializing is very accurate. It started discussing masculinity and femininity with me the other day without me reference them.

Prompting failure

and if charts don't matter, we just go right back to this.

AI Overview

Hip-hop/rap
was the most popular genre in the Billboard Hot 100 for 2024, holding the top position in both weekly and year-end charts. While 2025 data is still emerging, recent trends indicate continued dominance by hip-hop/rap and pop, though some sources suggest hip-hop may be experiencing a decline in single-driven crossover appeal, despite strong album performance.

2024
  • Hip-hop/Rap: Led the Hot 100 with 38% of all #1 songs and 38% of all Top 10 entries.
  • Pop: Came in second with 29% of the Top 10 entries.
  • Country: Was the third most popular genre in the Top 10, with a 25% share of #1s and a steady 15% share of Top 10 entries.

2025
  • Emerging trends: Hip-hop/rap and pop continue to be major forces on the charts.
  • Potential shifts: Some recent analysis suggests that while hip-hop/rap remains dominant overall, it may be becoming more album-oriented, with less crossover appeal in singles compared to previous years.
  • Country's continued strength: Country music maintained its popularity, with hits like Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" continuing to perform strongly into 2025.
