Whatever you do don't buy this album...
I ordered it on Amazon and read lots of mixed and disappointed reviews over the week it took for it to actually be delivered...

Opened it up today and put it in play in the car as I went about my day...
I felt robbed...

10 songs (if you can call them all songs)
And the only thing I felt was decent was "Blood On The Leaves"...

I'm done with Kanye, you don't do your fans like this...
If anything we should have got a fair warning from Kanye that this was just some experimental thing he released and to not confuse it with the same quality of his previous classics...

I won't be fooled again...

This was my last Kanye West CD, thats how robbed I feel about this cd...
It's like he didn't even try...

:dwillhuh: u copped this album before previewing or checking the reviews? :pachaha:

Magazines mattered back in the day because music was expensive (an album cost 4 to 8x more after inflation) and info on new artists and other regions was scarce. Once the internet came around magazines became a joke (how can u forget how Benzino RUINED the Source). Now we get music around the same time as reviewers or earlier and have access to pretty much everything going on through the internet. Why should anyone listen to a magazine reviewer in 2013?

I like reading reviews (even when I disagree), because its good to see an album from a different perspective. I mean, that's why we're here, isn't it?

You'd have to agree that they have more credibility and writing talent than the average Coli poster :skip:

all professionals however love it.

That's is just ass kissing. They know the know its garbage but they're not going to burn future bridges.

Until I see aproducer give a knowledgeblebbreakdown of Yeezus and why it's should be considered "amazing".

I bet you I could breakdown why this album is pura basura tho :scusthov:

There are a few posters here whose opinions I respect way more than some Pitchfork hipster. @hexagram23 @Long_Live_The_Kane @Rominati @Walt to name a few. Plus at the end of the day it comes down to opinion. If u dont fukk w/a certain artist/album it doesn't matter if Quincy Jones gives it 5 mics. Thankfully now we live in a time where you don't have to wait to make a judgement of an album yourself.

I would say all reviewers are good for is knowing whose reviews to read to see whose tastes line up or dont jive with yours.

I still can't believe he released this bullshyt of an album. He released "White Dress" for the soundtrack to RZA's movie, which is one of the best songs of his career. I don't see how anyone can listen to that and be happy with this album.

These days, there's leaks(official label released leaks) and ways to download the album befor you spend money on it.

Do that, listen to it. If you like it, go buy it. If not, delete it. Or just buy the 1 or 2 songs you like individually.

It's not like he still can't do that. It's obvious he was going in a different direction when the projections dropped.

As much as people shyt on this album in traditional hiphop circles ie the Coli, its still getting praise elsewhere. I still listen to it and really don't mind the switch up. I'd more disappointed if he just dropped a continuation of MBDTF. Kanye hasn't been "safe route" since 808s. :yeshrug:

yeah the producers were saying in the interview that they intentionally threw shyt out that sounded too obvious or too easy

They also mentioned they had some "old Kanye" tracks done too. Threw those out as well. They knew what they were doing.

Man, even if you don't like Yeezus you gotta give the dude credit for pushing the limits of "hip hop".. which is what he did...
I want classic Kanye, damn it. >_< This NEW new shyt can go left. Give me stronger, lights, gold digger, Jesus walks! "Blood on the Leaves" proves that he is still capable of bringing that OLD THANG back. Kanye simply refuses to do so. :'(
