Do we expect anyone albums to actually sale anymore no one buys albums brehs. We need to quit acting like sales even matter for hip hop artist anymore.

they don't?

kendrick went plat.

both j coles albums went gold+ (and i never heard ANYONE in real life utter his name)

rocky is pretty much gold with just 1 mixtape out prior.

yes, albums don't sell like they used to.. but stop with this "no one buys albums brehs" maybe you don't :rudy:

ok..then why sign to a major label if you're making music that mostly caters to just one demographic of music consumers?

the fact is, a lot of rappers who make music like YG should be staying indie because a lot of them sign to major and still are just catering to one demographic of music consumers.. the streets.

"no one buys albums anymore! it went plat in the streets!:troll:"

you think that matters to a major label :heh:

Show money, advance, and shyt fame. But your right I think cats like boosie, el dorado red, Kevin gates, Gucci, and others should just stay independent and get that snow money like that cat from Kansas City does/did.

It's inevitable but he could have done these type of numbers by just following the Nip blueprint.

Nip hasn't even done those numbers, let alone had a Platinum single though.

Ya'll probably think Dom Kennedy could have done the same right :mjpls:

The platinum single residuals will be nice for him no doubt as far as long term but let's not forget he's splitting that 3 ways.

Nip just sold out of $100 dollar mixtape and is going to put every dime from the sales to the tour in his pocket.

Big picture...

selling this much isn't good on a major, but it really depends how much promotion was put into it. YG is a strictly west coast nikka, probably cali specifically. nobody from def jam is doing shyt cause all them years they was spending more money than taking in cause records sales was bogus. idk why he would sign there instead of interscope though

I diasgree.Jeezy camp pushed YG heavy in the south. But southerners "Tooted and Booted" :mjlol:
