I always thought the Hype Williams visuals was the best thing about Belly

By far the best thing about the movie, unless you count the unintentional comedy.

The acting from both Nas & T-Boz during the “I got shot” scene

its a weird film; but like people have stated there was budget cuts that fukked it up. Visually it was cool; I've watched it with the sound off and can still quote lines from it. It could have been a lot better if the money didn't dry up. but still has a lot of classic scenes. Soundtrack was fire.

I don't think it was the budget cuts. The script was trash and would have needed a complete rewrite.
