Yo, how is Belly a classic and trash at the same time?

Not sure if anyone did it yet but new line cinema jerked Hype williams around when it came to the ending ...he said he wanted it to be filmed in Africa and the studio didn't want to release the funds necessary to do so it's also the reason why some parts of the movie don't seem as fleshed out as it should be.
