The planet still hurting from Iraq and 9/11 and that's part of it. The internet has killed human interaction. Cable TV is okay, the Network side has been suffering for some years, practically since Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond went off. That was 2004 and 2005. People are not willing to take risks like they did in the 80s and 90s anymore. Can they?

2007-2010 was pretty awful, mainly because of the damn recession but that was also when everyone woke up about Iraq, but buy they it had been almost 5 years and way too late.

True. I don't even think it's me getting older...it really just sucks. It's not exciting at all.

But I'm not stuck in my ways at all...I consider myself always moving forward and never backwards but I just miss the days when music, art, culture, shyt liek that meant something...I don't know. I was thinking about how much I was always looking forward to new albums and new movies and new TV shows and then it just stopped being interesting. Man, the internet is just killing everything. It's like nothing is special like that to me anymore. I'm just living my life now...where is the REAL art, where is the real MUSIC, where is the next big thing? Like I don't know, I find myself just going back and listening to older music and trying to sort through newer music cause there's so much of it but so little of it actually worth listening to.
I feel like this from time to time but I feel the source is over saturation that the internet has brought upon us heavy users.

Mainstream music has always been watered down... T/V has literally become a "reality" show fest but I rarely watch t/v to begin with...

Consider getting off the net and listening to music voluntarily all together for some time and watch ya brain chemistry renew itself big homie.

All that means is that world is passing away and you can tell it is by the rapid decline in our people. Many of our people are living like as if the world is coming to an end...because it is coming to end.

I'm bout to start buying vinyl again...I was in Halycon Brooklyn in DUMBO the other week and I was captivated by that world yet again...i feeling I haven't felt in years.

That feeling of going through 7s, 10s,12s, 45s, 33s...taking each release and listening to it on the turntable in the store before deciding what was dope and what was trash...nothing beats it.

Man, just 8 years ago I was either in Chapters/Indigo scanning cd's to listen to 30 second clips and shyt or at home waiting for dope songs to come on the radio so I could record em over cassette.

I strongly believe having WSHH, Kazaa, Limewire, Livemixtapes/Datpiff all at our finger tips has made us numb.

Shyt is weird.

People are weird.

Everyone's wrapped up in their smartphones and laptops not talking to each other.

Music just sucks ass and is hard to follow and everyone's doing the same thing and all sounds the same.

All these movies look the same...special effects out the ass with a terrible story line no action and like 75% dialogue...

Culture ain't authentic no more. Everything is based off of what somebody saw on the internet and it's all bought and sold and repackagaed....

Atleast the 00s were a bit more exciting in retrospect.

I'm not optimistic for the rest of this decade to be completely honest.

Dawg...I'm 30 (well, I'll be 30 in less than three weeks). Never did. even less so now. Simply because the older I get...the less I care about society.

I feel where you're coming from but..damn. Can't even make an observation or express my opinion without people tryna tell me what to do on the Coli or refer to it as "depressing" or "whiney"...everyone wanna shoot of that one round dap/rep combo post. No one wants
to read or here anything that interferes with their perception or contrasts against their immediate reality an what's "acceptable" within those parameters.

And in this era critiquing things is equal to be a "hater" or "bitter"....WTF?:mindblown:That's my right!

The 90s was just an experimental period and technology pop culture music fashion television and everythin else converged at the same time. Plus no internet...so things seemed more organic. Well, the internet did exist back then but it was nothing like what we have now.

in the 00s everything that was organic counter culturally (music fashion tv etc) became mass marketed and bought and sold.

the 10s feels like a product because of it.

The decade sucking is irrevelant if you don't let it guide your life.

I'm alive. I have family. I'm blessed. I'm safe.

That's more than a majority of the world can say.
