"Female" is a scientific label for a species that has the ability to produce children. When used as a noun (instead of its main usage--an adjective) the subject gets erased. Its like when Bill O'reilly calls black people "the blacks." It diminishes a woman down to her reproductive organs. That is the argument, anyway.
Yeah, i don't get this. I refer to women as females all the time, i've never felt indignant when i've heard the word referred to me or women in general.
