It's why people in debate communities are fiending for a "smart conservative", it's why in that "are there any smart conservatives" thread I was adamant about there not being any. The "smart" conservatives, in my experience debating, just cede ground after ground while still remaining conservative even though they typically can't defend anything, they just grew up conservative and tie it with their personality.

It isn't that surprising. Right wing propaganda is so pervasive in our society. If you go on YouTube right now you'll probably be recommended to some right wing grifter with a million views. The algorithms seem to favor right wing content and it has polluted the minds of so many people. There's people in my own personal circle whose brains have been fried due to absorbing so much right wing content.

Just a week ago I spoke with some random sister who brought up Candace Owens and said she can "see if from her perspective". This is a women who probably never had an educated opinion on anything. Most people don't have the political foundation to discern the information being fed to them. The right wing in this country has done a masterful job exploiting the ignorance of Americans.

Breh I have a cousin who never took an interest in politics a day in his life until Covid. Told me he likes Candace Owens and called Kanye West the most pro-black dude alive when he was linking up with her and talking about being a free thinker. Even when he was on Tucker Carlson. Just got completely sucked into all that "if you vote Democrat you're a blind sheep" white power rhetoric all over social media.

I had to school this dumb nikka on the people he is supporting just to be contrarian and feel like an intellect but he wasn't getting it. Was fully convinced that he's standing up for some great cause in simply not being a Democrat and eating up any crap Republicans day.

I haven't spoken to him since Kanye went on to attack jews and link up explicitly with white nationalists. And I'm not even gonna bother because I fully expect him to Juelz his ass off with the same old childish fallacies you see from these "free thinkers" when presented with anything that reflects poorly on the right "but....but.....you can't convince me Democrats give a fukk about me either! I actually hate both sides! fukk all of em!"

Funny you say this cause conservatives are literally the last people that don't like counter arguments.

Anytime you present a sound argument that utilizes facts, logic, and reasoning...they either respond with deflections, trolling, insults, or they just block you.

I just said it was Trump's fault that the corornavirus spread, because he didnt take action, and shut down the CDC centers that Obama established to deal with the Swine Flu and they banned me.

They are always so concerned about the political independence of black people and asking what has "voting Democrat" done for us in all the decades we've been voting for them. But you will never catch these clowns going to bumblefukk rural South towns where people have been voting Republican/Conservative for decades and you can hardly even find a hospital, dentist office, or barely even clean water, asking them "what have voting blindly Republican done for you? They are taking your votes and helping out your boss, not you. Yall need to demand more for your votes or withhold them til you get it! #freethinker."

What trips me out is how so many people attach themselves to Internet personalities. Like, if you criticize tariq nasheed for example, many people here are legit wounded. I don’t think shyt like that is healthy, and I see so much dialogue moving according to what talking head said.

It’s like there’s zero room for one’s own critical thinking. You have people learning politics through YouTube videos where content creators allow their bias to muddy the original intent. And so many people just take information at face value.
