I feel you, but the Alkaholiks had way too many dope beats to call that track one of the best. Shout to E-Swift and Diamond D

For the uninitiated, wait til around :47..

One of the best cut on the album

It really is. Great beat. Dope song....one of my top 5 Likz songs....

Except tons of people felt like Tha Likz sold out because they ran after the 'hot' producer(s) I remember westcoast Hip Hop heads kind of fading off them around this time because you know, rappers are not supposed to try to sell as many albums as possible...

Count me in that group :manny:

If I'm not mistaken, this album was their last. Probably because they alienated their entire fan base trying to get new fans. Still one of my favorite groups of all time though..

Yup pretty much. That group you were in wasn't small either....

I don't remember why they broke up exactly but that album tanking bad after chasing the mainstream probably was a KO. They all kind of went their own ways. J Ro I think is overseas or maybe it's E-Swift, Tash tried to do a solo thing but I haven't seen him do shows in a while...damn shame. They were a DOPE group.

Yeah, it was pretty much a consensus "what the fukk are they doing!?" :mindblown: feeling amongst hip-hop fans at the time.

Funny how things have a way of coming back around. I can see why youngins would love the track in the OP, but that wasn't the move for the Liks at the time.

With all that being said, they are most definitely one of the most under appreciated groups of the '90s.

Which is why I try to tell posters around here sometimes you have to live in the moment to understand why things went the way they did.

Song would be BIG if it came out today but at the time it was for sure the wrong move :yeshrug:

yeah, it's funny how things work

it was a "cash out" song for tha liks at the time, especially considerin' how different it was in sound for them

but at the the same time, the song was nice dependin' on who you ask

if you ask hardcore hip hop purist, they gon turn they nose up at it

if you ask a person who's a fan of all kinds of different hip hop, more than likely they head would be noddin' to the beat
