Social media and shows like Love and Hip Hop, Housewives of Atlanta, and Basketball Wives is one of the reasons. You have a good chunk of women, in particular black women who want to live the lives of baby mama's of professional athletes, rappers, etc or these IG "models" not realizing they the chances of them snagging an entertainer or athlete is very low and that these ig models are faking the funk when it comes to their lifestyle.

People want to live extraordinary lives while they themselves are average or above average.

I knew families like this too in the 80’s. I live in central NJ 100k out here ain’t cutting it unless you live in a apt or very modest home. Then add kids on top of that! You make 100K you bring home about 70k.

Outside of northeast, you could do it on 75k roughly.

Here is an example 50k budget for a person on their own:

Taxes $10K, Housing $18K, Utilities $3K, Insurance $2K, Auto Payments $4K, Food $6K Gas $3K, MISC $4K

I work in the paper making industry and every man on my crew makes around 70k-90k.


4 of the men on my crew have "stay at home" wives/baby mothers. Nobody is starving or struggling, dudes are taking trips with their families. My co-worker Charles just got back from Vegas.
