It’s not a guarantee, or disqualifier, but it does give an advantage. It shows stability, and commitment, despite a marriage not always being those things. It’s the fact that you made the decision to enter into a serious commitment that requires a lot of work.

Used to be like that. Not so much these days. Everything is changing.

Because they want people to live at work with dormitory housing across the street. :pachaha:.

Trust.... Some of these companies wish they could put the office on a college campus and keep young adults hooked with approved relationships and scheduled child births, lol. Then put the kids in the work building daycare to have them be future employees....it's sick out there.

The Truth
Great question/idea

I subconsciously thought that not being married affected my salary somewhat. I can’t speak for others, but it’s almost like not being married with kids kinda made companies think they could lowball me at times. If I was married with kids, maybe they think i would want more and try more to play the game.

They want you to sleep at the desk after work, use the daycare and have your wife live in the company dorm across the street. They like the single people to be there all day...and the married folks to make kids future employees of multi generational explotation as company housing is cheaper than regular housing cause they in bed with politicians.

Corporate America is kinda sick....

A men with no family has nothing to lose and is too much of a wild card..

used to fight for building blocks
Now we fight for blocks with buildings that make a killin'
The closest of friends when we first started
But grew apart as the money grew, and soon grew black-hearted
Thinkin' back when we first learned to use rubbers
He never learned so in turn I'm kidnappin' his baby's mother
My hand around her collar, feedin' her cheese
She said the taste of dollars was shytty so I fed her fifties
About his whereabouts I wasn't convinced
I kept feeding her money 'til her shyt started to make sense
Who could ever forsee?
We used to stay up all night at slumber parties
Now I'm tryna rock his bytch to sleep
All the years we were real close
Now I see his fears through her tears
Know she wishin' we were still close
Don't cry, it is to be
In time, I'll take away your miseries
And make it mine, D'Evils

Brehs/Brehettes is this true when it comes to your career, and getting invited into important spaces with management, owners, etc. Has not being married stopped you from elevating in your career field?

I've heard this a thousand times, seems like folklore at this point, but I'm 50/50 on this :patrice:
I have a friend who is a hospital system executive at 35/36 with no husband or kids. And its largely because she has the flexibility to meet the high demands of that job without the responsibility of a family. And she’s really smart and determined.

So I’m gonna call BS. This rule really only applies to positions that require you to be a public figure, where family is valued.

Maybe…

I just felt like, being a single breh at my age made them pass on me when it came to certain shyt even though I would be told “they loved my interview and my resume”.

I’m hovering at this mid-senior level in IT. I like mid because it’s easy and less stressful, but I have all the qualifications for senior positions. I haven’t tried seriously as yet but I think they feel if you don’t have a marriage (or been in one) or kids they don’t feel you’re serious… and they might be right
