NEW ERA
is the biggest crock of shyt thats popular among NFL heads these days

so your telling me nikkas like Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson you can win with, but not Alex Smith

so your telling me a nikka like Rex Grossman can get to the SB, yet you can't win with Alex Smith?

alex smith ranks first in NFL in completion rate (69.4%) 4th in passer rating (102.1) and 5th in yards per attempt (7.94)

why can't you win with a QB putting up stats like this and leading a team like the Niners :stopitslime:

nikkas hatin to hate

Mark sanchez has been to the AFC title game twice...Tim Tebow almost got to an AFC title game and Alex smith was an overtime away from a Superbowl

Your absolutely right...he's smart and doesn't make too many mistakes and a capable qb...not a world beater or someone who runs the offense like Peyton Brady or Eli but he can win a superbowl

theres no doubt in my mind that he couldn't win a Super Bowl with THAT team

I will concede that a team with Alex Smith can win the Super Bowl if 49ers fans can admit that Alex Smith is average (slightly above at BEST). Put Mark Sanchez on the 49ers and I guarantee the exact same results. You guys are leading the league in rushing AND defense right now, all the kid has to do is not fukk up.

on a team with a great defense, running game, and ST, alex can win a SB.

all those phases have to be clicking tho since alex ain't the type to carry a team on his back. we'll see what's up in january.

breh you can switch alex with almost any other starting QB right now and we'll still be 6-2 or better. with our coaching staff and our QB friendly system and how well balanced our team is, i don't see how anyone can argue otherwise.

So far it's true :manny:

Ppl use to say you can't win a title with Dirk as your best player. Dirk proved that statement to be false let's see if AS can do the same

You can but the margin of error is slim to none with an average qb like him

Since the rules change to favor the offense the last decade almost every qb has won has been a top 5-10 franchise QB..a game manager hasnt won a super bowl since Tampa Bay

What niner fans have you been talking to?

We all know about Alex's limitations. We are praising him more this year because he is killing bad teams, something he never did before. He still struggles against the elite so we'll see.

To answer the question, I think we could win with him if everything falls into place. If we had gotten out of that OT against the Giants, I think we could have beaten New England but it's hard to predict exactly how the game would have gone.
