Tony Romo isn't clutch.

Most 4th quarter comebacks and GW drives since 06. Highest QB rating in 4thQ+OT in league history.

Clayton Kershaw can't pitch in the playoffs.

Speed up rotation, and still pitches 6+ with 3 or less earned. Loses most postseason games due to run support.

Defense wins (NFL) championships.

Rams, Colts, Saints, Packers all won because of offense. Without David Tyree and Welker dropping a ring, the Pats could have very easily also won 2 more with offense >>>> defense. You don't need defense, you need timely stops.

Chic-Fil-A isn't that good.

:stopitslime:
Nah defense wins championships. Packers were 2nd in defense that Year.

Giants defense held one off the most prolific offenses in NFL history to 14 points.

Seahawks just got there back to back off of defense and timely plays from Russell Wilson.

The only time Peyton Manning won, is when there was an actual defense in Indy and Bob Sanders was healthy.

The Patriots won when they had a top defense.

It really doesn't

New England is not in the top half of rushing this year

Seattle is an outlier and wouldn't be in the super bowl if they didn't have that elite defense no matter how good lynch and Wilson are at running the ball

The Giants were last in rushing in 2012

Green Bay was 24th in rushing in 2011

Indy was last in rushing in 2010

The sheer amount of teams that make the Super Bowl that are bad at running the football disproves your theory

Yet they ran for how many yds in the championship game?

I don't recall Indy winning the SB in 2010 but I do recall them losing the the top 6 in rushing Saints.

The outliers are the teams the win without a running game. Gotta get the dirty work done in the trenches in both sports.

Naw it's all about the QB and the prolific offenses that ALWAYS get shut down by top defenses in the playoffs. It's apparent a lot of nikkas have trouble differentiating between what they like/want and what actually happens.

couldn't I argue that Spurs and Miami's good jump shooting was a product of Wade/LeBron/Tim/Tony/Manu/ ability to do work down low (whether it be driving or post up) while being great passers?

Don't forget Boris Diaw looking like :steviej: when he got a switch and went to the post

You review both teams because chance are the team that was better running the ball all year isn't the difference in the game

These team won because of jump shooting

This is so untrue. Teams score more often on a TO no matter where they end up on field than a punt

Look at the AFC championship

The colts scored their only TD after an INT on their own 6 yard line

This is empirical

how can you say its empirical, it is completely hearsay.... show us any evidence of statistics that back up what you are saying...

@CrimsonTider, a simple google search and we are able to categorically reject your statement, that the spurs won the nba finals taking jump shots... while there was roughly a spread out distribution... they took the largest percentage of shots from under the net (drives, post ups)

they scored 165 points from 3 while shooting above average percentage

how in the hell is that not the reason for them winning?

were not debating whether or not that helped them win, we are debating whether or not they won the championship shooting jumpers... they clearly did not.

I think the main reason I disagree with you, is you took charles' statement out of context... hes not saying that shooting jumpers wont help you win... hes saying that only taking jumpers will surely lead to loss... the spurs won because they were able to penetrate and move the ball to open shooters....

they were a great shooting team... but the board clearly shows, they didnt win the finals by favoring jumpers more then inside shots/layups.

Rams were 6th overall in defense and had the number 1 run defense in the league the year we won the Super bowl.

More a function of their offense being ungodly and making teams play from behind than their defense being great. Same thing with my Kelly era Bills.:to:

chuck was halfway right. i do think memphis and portland are the 2 best teams in the west. However, i dont trust portland's bench. even with blake and kaman. The problem with golden state isnt that they are a jump shooting team. For me, i Just dont like their frontcourt. Green is good but he isnt a great rebounded. Bogut is inconsistent and so is lee. When they play against teams with size(spurs, grizz, blazers). i dont think they can win in a 7 game series
