I was just about to say. Santa is based on a real person. So it's very possible Jesus is based roughly on some real person. But most of what he taught is not known and Saul and a few others made up some events surrounding his life.

Nah, they got info from eyewitnesses and the Apostles. Jesus was worshiped as 'divine' within a year of his execution. Impossible to 'make up' events that would be debunked by living witnesses to those events.​
