You don’t really think Durant is better than Bird…Right?

I do. Better defender (Bird was always super overrated here to me, while KD is super underrated here), better scorer, a better shooter and in his prime the athletic gap was crazy.

The only argument I can see for Bird is Bird was light years a better playmaker/passer and he was definitely a better rebounder.

As the years go on, KD going over to the Warriors has actually been kind to his legacy. Because without those titles, the rest of his postseason career is not the greatest...

What player's postseason career is highly regarded without chips?

You misread. KD needs those Warriors titles now because he hasn't accomplished much without that Warriors run. If he had been successful in Brooklyn or Phoenix, it would have really cemented his legacy.
His legacy is already cemented as one of the greatest scorers ever. As far as all time ranks, people were never going to elevate him after going to GS anyway and you know that.

KD has a higher scoring ceiling and is more athletic. With regards to actual production Bird was better.

KD is more in line with the Gervins, Dantleys and Kings. He just happened to come along in the post Jordan era where people flipped the script on volume iso scorers. Early in Mike's career it was considered a bad thing. After Mike it became THE thing.

There's an argument that Durant is better than Bird (though it's not one that I'd make), but there really isn't an argument that Durant is greater than Bird.

Yall trippin durant would whoop larry bird ass put durant on those Celtics and they win 5 chips minimum
You sure about that 80s nba guys like Bill Laimbeer, Rick Mahorn, Kevin McHale, and Charles Barkley, would tee off on the slim reaper on both sides

Bird could take a punishment would Durant hold up

Imagine Barkley posting KD up he eat his ass up (no @Buckeye Fever )

And in Durants era Larry would be even more effective he barely took 3s imagine he could take 300+ 3s a season

Bird was by far the better passer and floor general

KD got the hops and athleticism but as we see with Kon right now Bird game would be even more lethal with the kinda space now
