She wants to show the haters. Future is one of the haters, a lot of men don’t like that she’s a single mom w/ a history of dating men like future, that upgraded, and they think Russ is a simp. So her and Russ may want to “prove” something to those people specifically. As for Russ I believe there were some low key grievances between him and Future over Ciara and their son, so yes on some level as a man he could be letting Future know that he’s the shyt—the mvp that did what Future wasn’t capable of and did it well. I think they’re just happy though, and they should be. They’re blessed.


I don’t think either one of them are obnoxious at all. In fact I don’t know either one enough to say it.

I don’t see anything wrong with what their doing.

Low key a lot of people do the same, they just may not consider it flexing when they do it. Humble brag is equal to flexing imo. And we know how much that’s done on this site lol.

I think it’s a part of human nature to want to “show” people. Whether it’s the people that underestimated you, wanted you to fail, that you didn’t. Likewise people in our current society tend to want show their success, their great assets, etc. People like to portray their lives certain ways on social media. There’s a sense of satisfaction many receive in all of the above scenarios, which is why many do it.

That's why I don’t understand why people speak on Ciara and Russ doing it, as if they are the only ones that do it.

I don’t find it obnoxious or petty myself, it seems pretty par for the course, esp. considering that many others do it too, but I know that’s its seen by others as obnoxious because of the context behind the Ciara and Russ situation.

I don't know their lives or what goes thru their heads as far as the motives behind what and why they use social media.. But I'm gonna guess that judging by Russell's success he's a pretty focused guy. I highly doubt flexing on future (or the haters) be on his mind like that. And I'll go as far to say that's probably the last thing on his mind.. I have no clue how happy they are as a couple but just like we can't assume they're happy, we can't assume they're not either. All because Ciara posts cute pics with her husband and kids doesn't mean she's "trying to hard" or its fake or a slick shot at future.. . Everybody posts cute pics with their kids

I like Ciara but as a card carrying member of #pettygang, the majority of her and Russ’ moves are nice/nasty flex on my ex attention whoredom IMO.

Not judging b/c trust me, my levels of petty are astronomical. I’ve done some shyt to some of my exes that I know God was facepalming at.
But petty recognize petty.
I just wonder if the strength of their relationship will be able to stand the test of time once the novelty of getting validation and attention from an ex wears off.

Or I could be totally off base. But my petty senses be tingling.
