My friend, most of the world lives on less than 1 dollar a day. You live in a sheltered society. This logic means dating and marriage are a luxury only for the wealthy. This is why the current way of life can not be sustained and will be headed to Japan(aging declining population) even faster than expected.
This is another reason the universal basic income is being discussed more and more in post modern societies. Movies, Materialism and TV have shaped peoples thoughts and way of life which is unrealistic.
Make sure you wife make her own too. My wife made more then me when we first met. No kids yet but he's going to have a way different life then I had growing up.

Guess I don't qualify.I was listening to a radio documentary online just this past weekend. It was about dating online. One woman who was a PHD researcher who was single thought that she would have alot of options because she was in shape, educated, and made alot of money. In her words she thought she would be popular. She said after she joined and realized she did not have options she thought she would. She said she thought she would be popular. She said it was a challenge for her and she began to research why. This is something that men already knew but she had to conduct research study on why. She concluded that she and everybody wanted the same thing and it most likely was not there and/or was not available to most of them. It was a learning experience for her and in the final analysis she concluded that she needed to be open minded and realistic. After that she said she met some really great people to spend time with...in her words.
