You gotta put your child's future into consideration when naming them.

You namin your son Ty'QuanKinDerius?

My son will probably have a Ghanaian name. But again, you can give your child the caciest name in the world and it won't make a difference.

A white kid named Ty'QuanKinDerius would have no problem getting a job while a black kid named John Stevens will struggle because he's going to have to beg a white supremacist to hire him.

But my children won't have to ask a cac for a job. My children will work in the family business until he's ready to start his own enterprise. My children will never work for a cac.

....
At the end of the day I'm sure that there were plenty of Blacks named George and James and Peter and _____ (insert generic white traditional name) that were lynched ...

and even more now who still can't find a decent job ...

Remember I told a friend this. She named both her daughters La'Niyah and Da'Nasia. I told her she just want these people to shred their resumes. Her response was "That's not true, my cousin been working at her job for 5 years with no problem."

Her cousin name is DaQuisha and she works at Walmart :comeon:

Me and my ex wife fought over this because I absolutely REFUSED to name any hypothetical children with European names. fukk that c00nish, self hating, and downright MYTHICAL excuse that "black" names won't get you hired.

Those are the names my father gifted each of his children when we were born. And every single ONE of us has remained gainfully employed since we've reached working age. Teach your children to have pride in their heritage, pride in their themselves, and how to construct a decent resume and conduct themselves in an interview. If the color of their skin will prevent them from employment (which still happens mind you, I would NEVER suggest otherwise) then it matters not if their name is Keisha or Samantha.

Aren't you white? It's crazy how a non black person has an opinion on a topic addressing black people and the naming of our children. Then again I don't know if most of these people are black but still it's crazy how non black people have the audacity to give opinions on issues that don't concern them. Smh
Cant say she wasnt informed/warned

Cairo, Cersi, & Safiya. I also like Maurice.
Maurice and Antoine are only discriminated against in the United States. That's because it's a french name but black americans seem to like the pronunciation and started naming their kids that thus it's perceived as a "black name"

I have an uncle (mom;s cousin) and two colleagues named Maurice. Both the colleagues are white and work with our partner companies.

There is a difference between naming your kid something non-Anglo and something dumb like Apple or Alize. I find Black people with extremely popular Anglo names to be funny and pity them.

TYRONE GA!
fukked up that people actually look at that shyt when hiring, but they absofukkinlutely do.

and will throw your resume in the trash with the quickness. No fukks Given.

So unless you are an entrepreneur, running or in a family business, know people, etc. then you better give your kids a name that won't get them fukked in the real world.

I'll put it like how my uncle's response was when I asked him about bob marley's kids and he mentioned ziggy. I said "what kind of name is ziggy" he responded with "what kind of name is *insert my name*" But the "dominant"society doesn't see it the way we see it when we name our kids whatever we want in the "black community" in many ways. It's almost as if we can't have our own style without it being judged or looked down upon. One of my many points which tilt the scale when "supremacy & privilege" are swept under the rug.
Ziggy is actually a nickname. His real name is David :troll:

I dont think ethnic african names have the same negative impact. Not that your name should ever deprive you of opportunities but still. For example My girlfriend is Ugandan and most people see her name written and wanna shorten it and she be quick to correct you on some "my name is ********. Not what you just said". Not even close friends are allowed to shorten her name. WHen she's on the job market she gets calls from recuiters and turns down great job offers all the time. She also named her kids traditional Ugandan/bantu names even tho their father is american.
She also has a fine ass Nigerian friend name Funmi. Thinking about that chick's ass and t*ts and lips keeps me up at night, brehs :banderas:
But anyway, the names i referred to in my original post are typical names that ive noticed are common in the black American community that are viewed as "black names" and have that "made-up name" or "ghetto name" stigma attached. And again my post i addressed the issue that this i common in all societies. Certain groups from each societies will look down upon others no matter what whether it's because of your name or family name or whatever.
