You gotta put your child's future into consideration when naming them.

It doesn't matter:snoop: Tyrone and Lamont are European names, if your last name along with that is Freeman you resume or rental application is going into the trash. They don't like black people

This. Dudes actually think the name is what's stop people from succeeding :mjlol:

You can give your son the caciest name ever and it won't make a difference because he'd still be black.

This threads and many of these responses is very "cac-ish" :patrice::jbhmm:

Aren't you white? It's crazy how a non black person has an opinion on a topic addressing black people and the naming of our children. Then again I don't know if most of these people are black but still it's crazy how non black people have the audacity to give opinions on issues that don't concern them. Smh

Calling my future son Goku
I'll name my future son, future trunks

Anyway yeah if someone doesn't want to hire a black person having a white sounding name isn't going to stop them.
I have a weird name myself (arabic name but very rare) and it hasn't stopped me at all, matter of fact i always get complemented on it.
I don't personally condone having some super far out made up name but on the other hand I'm not naming any of my kids european names

Op didn't even make the topic addressing black people, he was more specific about class & naming not race :beli:, the responses turned into posters throwing out names that white people make up trying to mock

Remember I told a friend this. She named both her daughters La'Niyah and Da'Nasia. I told her she just want these people to shred their resumes. Her response was "That's not true, my cousin been working at her job for 5 years with no problem."

Her cousin name is DaQuisha and she works at Walmart :comeon:

or you could try to get name-blind laws on the book. other countries have experienced with these types of laws. i'm guessing instead of a name u list an ID to identify yourself on applications. Even with a white first name some surnames reveal your ethnicity (even for blacks).

also, u have to draw the line. first u erase your names to comfort them and what's next? everything about us makes them uncomfortable & studies show that creative names across races only negatively affects blacks. it's not the name that offends them its your race.
Can't hide it in the interview.
