You have to give up one of the following for life -

  • The Internet - No more Internet ever, including on your phone. No social media, no apps. You can still have a phone, but it's for phone calls only. You can have have video games on your computer (or console) but they'll have to be offline games.
  • Modern Medical technology - No access to medical technology from the last 100 years. If you're healthy, you're good, but if you get sick you don't have access to modern medicine. No prescription drugs, no surgery, no chemotherapy if you get cancer, etc. If you have something like a stroke or heart attack you're probably screwed.
  • Modern Plumbing - Enough said. You don't get to have a toilet nor do you get access to any. You have to either go outside or use an outhouse or pan or something.
  • Modern Entertainment - No TV, no movies, no streaming apps, no videogames, no music other than live or in-person. You still have the Internet, but you only have access to non-entertainment related sites (ie. your bank).
  • Modern Transportation - No access to cars, buses, trains, airplanes, etc. You have to walk or bike where you need to go. Hopefully you either work from home or live close to your job.

Internet. I feel i would be so more productive without it, plus i experienced life without it, even if it was a lil bit.

Depends. Does this only apply to me or everyone? If it applies to everyone then modern transportation. If it only applies to me, then modern medicine (I’ll take my chances as I’m generally healthy).

So you'd drive to the bank twice a week to check your statement?

You would drive to 10 different employers to apply for jobs?

If you started a business, how would you fair against other business with internet access?
Why do you need to check your statement twice a week. We used to do something called balancing a checkbook. And if you’re not on the internet anyway, it’ll be almost impossible for anyone to steal money from your account.

Finding a job might be difficult, but assuming you have decent prospects, you should only have to go through the process a couple times. The question is whether the employer will want to deal with a no internet having nikka. Most applications are completely online. Seems like an inequity of choices and an exception should be made for job applications.

Kill the internet, and in 5 years, House Parties will come back. Folks will start dancing at clubs again. All the old Brick and Mortar brands would magically make a come back. Physical media for movies and games would come back. Young dudes would start going to malls to meet girls again too. With gaming, we lose online multi-player, but regain couch co-op, and lose all the loot boxes, skins, and day one patches.

:blessed:
