This isnt the 90s anymore. Most kids WONT take an interest in sports or the arts. I had this conversation with my exwife when we were planning for a family. I wont decide what our kid will do recreationally but we will guide them. Example being, you MUST play an instrument. I wont choose what instrument for you but its a requirement in our household that you do. Same goes with sports. You can play what you want but you gonna play something and do so seriously. He sounds like a tool. You support guide and support your children's passion. It's not about having a second crack at life through them.
Most kids will take an interest in some physical sport, some instrument so it shouldn't be challenging.

The things you learn at an early age brings a level of discipline and values that will translate in life. It also helps generate a work ethic, helps a child be sociable and gives them experience about respecting adults outside the home and so much more intangible shyt. It sets real goals for kids early and gives them something to achieve. WTF kind of goals do modern day kids even have for themselves if they arent involved in the arts or athletics. They just want to hop on the game or sit on social media watching OTHER people live.
