Don't forget the industry trying to hold back songs and wouldn't let them release songs together. Most of them weren't used to being held back. That's why they moved back to the independent way. They can jump on each other's songs with no worries.

yep...

mike wouldnt have done it tho...still tippin changed that nikka...he turned his back on slim nem faster than he did magno...

once he got his foot in the door it was all bout ice age

We never have nor will we ever seek validation from any other city, state, or coast. We have our own culture and music down here that we vibe to, we don't need no other nikka to validate our shyt brehs. Our artist always have hustled and got their money without the help of majors. That was how shyt was before 05-06 and how it continues to be after.

Thank you. nikkas from other states just don't understand our mentality when it comes to getting paid and being able to move whenever you want to. nikkas in Texas are not thirsting to be on Tv and radio. It never has been that way so when I see threads like this talking about how Houston dun fell off and how we blew it it pisses me off. The majors came to us wanting a piece of our bread and as @shopthatwrecks explained they were looking to fukk us over plain and simple. Chamillionaire himself explained this in detail along with Slim, same with Paul. We didn't fukk anything up the majors did. We still have our anthems down here and still dropping great music. Y'all nikkas the ones that need it to be validated by TV or radio in order to show interest which proves that y'all didn't really fukk with us from the beginning just hopped on the bandwagon with everyone else back then bc it was the "cool" thing to do. Bc they didn't blow up on the level y'all expected them to be on right now all of a sudden you ain't fukkin with them and they fukked up? I swear man y'all nikkas don't even seem to like music anymore and just stuck on worrying about how famous a nikka gets. fukk the fame nikkas stay getting paid and don't have to make lame music or wack ass collabos set up by the industry to make money.

Real talk Bun and Pimp were not seeing eye to eye on a lot of shyt and got into some really heated arguments right before he died. You could kind of hear it in his voice when he did the infamous ATL radio interview. He got tired of Bun consigning all these fake ass rappers stealing a lot of shyt from Texas nikkas. I swear I wish Pimp was alive bc I know for a fact he would've aired out ASAP Rocky and the rest of these nikkas for biting Houston shyt. Since Bun said it was cool and shows up to do shows with everyone who comes down here everyone kind of chilled. Marcus Manchild was about to go in on them nikkas.

Don't get it twisted tho, Bun and Pimp were brothers through and through. They didn't see eye to eye all the time and then didn't really share the same mentality in regards to a lof of things but in a way that is what made their music so beautiful at times.

Talk shyt about Bun now, but if Pimp was still here and heard it best believe he would come see you jack, and you would smell his cologne, because he wouldn't lip wrassle with you about it either.

dude is garbage as fukk... I remember people just running with the freestyle king nonsense off the fact that he said it and I never understood why nukkaz accepted that title. I checked him off the strength of that title and I was disgusted. It wasn't until someone broke it down recently that I understood that he put that on himself and it wasn't a title he earned.

straight fakkit shyt... dude was on national television bragging on fake jerseys and kicks :snoop: had racks full of trash feeling himself, making houston nikkaz look like some clueless country fools.

Regardless houston will always have the prestige of the rap-a-lot movement in their rap legacy. lil flip was a bad embarrassment and detraction as well as mike jones.

I wouldn't say labels fukked over slim thug at all he was on songs with beyonce and had pharell at his disposal. It just wasn't his look, nikkaz need to be true to self, do what you came in doing that got you popping don't flip on your first major album.

Oh believe me I understand they were brothers till the end but I just wanted to let people know that Pimp was not as cool with this shyt I see nowadays as Bun seems to be.
You are right though that's what made them UGK and their music so damn classic. Different personalities attacking a track from different perspectives over pimps live instrumentation. Damn I miss that nikka Pimp:sadcam:

Bun isn't all that cool with it either and at times you'll see him snap about it. But as an OG he feels its better to keep the peace and not promote any beef or violence. So in the end he'd rather it be a talk it out and show love type of thing.

nah them nikkas aint never have shyt in common bun been a ugk replacement since day one, only friend they had in common was mitch... the original ugk was pimp c n mitch queen

mitch kinda made pimp put to side whatever beef he had with bun

ugk is like the convicts..they were forced together...both set of rappers been around 4 yrs...only way they could get in was to come together..but ugk actually got a nice lil deal..n didnt really fukk with each other unless it was dealin with music

had it not been from jive...ugk wouldnt even stayed together...like how the convicts didnt stay together...big mike didnt hesitate to replace willie d when face willie n lil j got into it..

3-2 had to get in where he fit in...he was own a bunch of posse cuts on rap-a-lot til the black monks got put together..

pimp nem got signed he tried everything he could to get boomtown, boonie loc n dmd in the game..he wasnt worried bout bun...but jive blocked him from workin with his homeboys..he couldnt get on dmd 1st album as pimp c..kuz jive wouldnt clear it...

pimp got dmd his deal with elektra...he kept his promise..

Pimp and Mitch would have never been as successful, and all those cats ran together anyway, they would always be on the seawall hanging out and shyt. Pimp, Bun, Mitch, DMD, Boonie etc.. Boonie had talent but couldn't stay out of trouble and when he finally got out for good he was on some other shyt.

All in all they were just two different people but from my interactions with them either together or on a one on one basis they loved each others as brothers, and knowing Pimp, I don't think he would front about it. Sure he called Bun out on bullshyt from time to time but when your that close to someone shyt happens.

And lets be honest Pimp got them into a lot of shyt they shouldn't have gotten into. The horrible deal with Rap a lot, the issues with P, the trouble in Louisiana. Pimp let his mouth get ahead of him at times and even he had to use connections to get out of. Dude literally owed is life to J Prince and because of that it kind of sabotaged the future success of UGK.
