Drinks Blood from a Boot
People have been talking about upgrading their HDD in there consoles, PC's and even cell phones.
What people don't talk enough about is how we won't need to worry about this stuff sooner than later. Microsoft hinted at this, and has taken steps to what I'm about to share with you. But I understand if these companies drag their feet. Its not really a subject the masses talk about enough for them TO push the envelope. An always online XB1 would had ushered in what I'm talking about.
Online/Cloud storage. With the cloud, we don't even need games anymore. Or systems. We can just stream the games like OnLive does. Thats the future. Before we go that far, this gen, hard drives will be obsolete.
Well, they can be. The main factor that keeps us using physical hard drives is convenience. Nobody wants to download large files over and over again. What everyone forgets to factor is the increased internet speeds we keep getting. Whats the point of having faster speeds? Your online gaming for instance only needs about 1.5mbps to play online relatively lag free. We reaching GBPS speeds. At those rates, it wouldn't take long at all to redownload files we consider large today. Soon, online storage solutions would make more sense than using physical HDD's. Skydrive gives out 100gb for free if you buy a windows phone. How much free space will they give away in 2020?
What do you see prospering.. Spotify or your old library of CD's? And while things like Spotify wont have EVERYTHING you may have loved in the 90's per say, it should have most things from 2010-2020. Moving forward, a younger person won't have that issue. They'll be like "Spotify has everything" and things like that will become the new standard. The new normal. HDD is old skool technology and will be obsolete before you know it imo... DIscuss
