The Lakers get talked about the most right now because of two reasons:

1. The Lakers have the biggest fanbase in the NBA by FAR. There's a "Lakers section" in most of the other arenas when the Lakers come to town.

2. The Lakers are the most hated team in the league, so hating ass muthafukkas are taking a lot of joy in the teams current struggles.

And people need to stop with the "there's no parity in the NBA". That shyt is by design, the only way you'll see parity in the NBA is if they go to a one and done playoff format. A 7 game series is to ensure that the best team is going to win.

The Howard-Kobe beef will die down after trade deadline when nothing happens. Once media figures Howard isnt going anywhere this season, the focus will turn to the NCAA and its tournament coming up soon.

If it was Baseball season we'd be talking about A-Rod

And every football season the Cowboys are the talk of the town yet they fail to even make a dent in the playoffs. Same with the Jets.

Come on. There are a lot more problems with the NBA than the Lakers being talked about often :childplease:

The stupid thing about all of this is that Mitch Kupchak has BEEN saying for awhile now that they're not gonna trade Dwight. There's been no double talk or half truths in that, he been flat out saying he's NOT trading Dwight.

A good chunk of this bullshyt that's been in the media is actually a media creation. The Lakers organization aint been pressing Dwight about signing an extension and even the local media hadn't been asking him that shyt, it's been everybody else that keeps asking him about it and speculating on it.

The most fukked up thing about this a$$holes asking these guys these questions is this:

From the new NBA CBA FAQ said:
Teams and players are not allowed to negotiate terms a new contract (other than an extension) prior to the July 1 when the player becomes a free agent1. Teams are required to notify the league office immediately upon reaching any verbal or written agreement with a player, and all contracts must be filed with the league office within 48 hours of signing. If a team makes an agreement with a player that is not reported to the league, the penalties can be even harsher than those described in question number 29. Such a violation is considered by the league to be among the most serious a team can commit. Again, the league will investigate any allegations of wrongdoing. A violation can result in a fine up to $6 million, forfeiture of draft picks, voiding the player's contract(s), and/or the suspension for up to one year of any team personnel who were involved. In addition, the player himself can be fined up to $250,000, and prohibited from ever signing with that team.

So they know that Dwight AND Lakers management can't talk about this shyt, but they keep fukking asking the same damn question over and over again. That's why when that report came out during the off season that Dwight would be willing to sign long term with the Lakers his agent came out with the quickness and said he'd be testing free agency.

These reporters are basically asking Dwight to give up money just so they can get a scoop.

Because the Lakers being bad is the #1 story of the season.

You can't go 3 days without somebody talking about Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant not being friendly with each other, it's more of a soap opera than pro wrestling.

A personal squabble is the headline of the season.

c/s and because lebron has a ring

My brother's keeper
Lakers were being predicted to be at worst a top 3 team in the league and many had them wrapping up the championship.

How does them not even making the playoffs in a league where half the teams make it like you pointed out being a story show the NBA sucks?

The NBA is scripted :manny:

I will never take the NBA serious. LeBron will win the next two finals. Come 2014 he is going to be asked "LeBron, will you know be re joining the Cavaliers now that you have won 3 rings? Is it time to win one for your hometown?"

Say what you nikkas want but the NBA is one big soap opera, scripted.

Neg me all you want, NBA is on the same level as the WWE.
