Breh listen to how insulting that is tho. You can ask these dudes about cultural norms and practices that have been in place for centuries and they seriously believe there was no concept of ethnicity until some acronyms
All kinda white people came here for centuries and knew their ethnicity but Black immigrants come and now we're confused???
Bruh white people have had about a century and a half to iron all this shyt out

. Irish, Jewish and Italian immigrants weren’t considered white when they arrived here. In fact they were hated and vilified - Sicilians were even victims of lynching like us. It wasn’t some harmonious merging of cultures. The reason they even needed to pass immigration reform in the 60s is because white people wasn’t fukking with other white Europeans like that

. I know it sounds unimaginable to us today but racial lines have shifted.
I say all that not to justify infighting among black folk today but to illuminate why social cohesion can be challenging. This is especially true whenever there’s a scarcity of resources, jobs etc. I imagine a lot of FBA/ADOS rightfully feel aggrieved by this country’s wrongdoing and question if our political potency is diluted by the influx of black migrants who don’t share the same historical grievances. It’s 100% reasonable to examine that. I mean, truly, are the economic and political concerns of African Americans all the same as Nigerian Americans? Do Cubans align politically with Mexican Americans? So while I’m a proponent of black solidarity there
is some utility in delineation. I just don’t think there’s ever a reason to be bigoted and xenophobic.
