you say it's a $60 loss cuz you sold $60 of product
and it's a $40 loss cuz u gave change back on the purchase

-60-40-100 = -200
where -100 is for stealing the money in the first place

i guess he never paid you +$100 for the $60 product and $40 of change then?

then how the fukk are you giving him $40 and $60 worth of product? is it for free?

he never paid $100 to you?

or is does -100 + 100 - 40 - 60 equal to -200 in your retarded math?

but you didn't sell it.

receiving your own money tho

If the person just took your money and gave it to you, your loss (speaking in simple terms, not counting interest etc) would be 0.

Your loss is $100 *because* you gave him $60 worth of products and $40 in cash.

You run a shop and someone came in and stole $100 without your attention.

The person came back and used the same money to buy $60 worth of items from your shop and you gave him a change of $40.

How much money have you lost?

Explain your answer so we know you didn't do ya googles. :patrice:

I started with $100 - 100 (Stolen) = $0

He just brought $60 worth of stuff + 0 = $60

The $40 is negligible--I guess.

So, you lost $40, still. Or...you still lost $100. Cuz you coulda had $160.

he takes $100 and gives it back. youre at 0
you give him 40 in change and 60 in goods.

100

am i right?
the goods hes selling for 60 probably only cost him 30 though or else he wouldnt be making much profit, so its only 70 lost.

You lost $40 plus your wholesale cost of the merchandise; so less than $100

He walks out with $40, but he gives you $60 back. But, you're out whatever that merchandise cost you to stock it since he walks out with that as well.

*daps* That's exactly what I said

People in here lacking basic grasps on economics and accounting :scust: But they're the educated ones :scust:The shopkeeper would actually make an accounting profit in this situation but an economic loss.

lol I'll play along
You are a coli dealer with no certs.

You have $200 on you today

Someone robs you the dealer for ($100) because they think your 8th bags are too much(60)

Dude comes back to buy the 8th bag for 60 with the 100 he stole from you.

You give him 40 bucks back.

How much have you lost?
100 or an 8th bag and 40 bucks = -100

Gotdamn some of y'all dumb as fukk. Dude got $200 worth of shyt out the shop.

140 in cash
60 in inventory

That equals 200

If you want to get technical it could be lower because of the inventory being purchased at a wholesale price and sold as a markup but for sake of the thread it's 200
