Yes logically that would be the answer. BUT what I'm implying is this isn't a basic question. It's a trick Question to where u have to write it out as a math variable.
We agree if u lose 100 Then it's written as -100
Then the guy gives $60 back so he's now at -40. But the money he recieves from the merchandise doesn't count as a profit because again he's using stolen money so he loses $60 which brings him back to -100. And in return he gives him an extra $40 as change so now he's short -140.
U see how it works that way too? It's a trick question Breh
That is where you're wrong. He's not giving $60 back, he's giving $100 back. If he only gave him $60 back, there wouldn't be $40 in change.

Yea... i was only 4 pages into the thread, lol. My badU about 12 hours late Breh

100You run a shop and someone came in and stole $100 without your attention.
The person came back and used the same money to buy $60 worth of items from your shop and you gave him a change of $40.
How much money have you lost?
Explain your answer so we know you didn't do ya googles.![]()
Lol @ 28 pages
Didn't read it all, but I'm sure people are overcomplicating it.
The answer is $100.
He stole that money, what he does with that money is irrelevant. Similarly, you sell goods for money. As long as that money isn't counterfeit, it doesn't matter where that money came from.
Bottomline: At the end of the day, your books will come up $100 short.
