Good write-up. I somewhat disagree with the last assertion because Rodman's ability to move the ball, set good picks and offensive rebound at a crazy rate meant that he contributed on the offense. Not necessarily by scoring (even though he would get tip-ins) but that's not the only way one can contribute on offense. If you look at a guy like Joakim Noah, his career average is 9.9 pts per game. Rodman is at 7.3. Yet no one says that playing with Noah is like playing 4 vs 5.

Good points, what I meant was more along the lines of not expecting him to score or takeover the game offensively, like Love can. I also find Noah a better scorer, ball handler and distributor in offense and I'd take him on that side of the field over Rodman :manny:

Soon as I saw the thread title when I logged in on the home page I literally :mjlol:

Kevin Love is Ryan Anderson with a more handsome face and better body. He's a perimeter shooting big man that puts up empty numbers. Comparing him to Rodman is fukking laughable

True, just wanted to point out that Rodman was not an offensive liability like others here seem to think. He wouldn't necessarily score himself, but could keep the ball moving effectively and create extra possessions. Somehow offensive rebounds get forgotten when speaking of offense, he was good for 5-6 offensive rebounds per game in his prime.

Well yeah. But consider he was rarely the one taking the shot and his job was to watch for the rebounds which helped that number. Love was way more often the one taking the shot, and considering his perimeter based game, he had great chances of not being the one catching his own rebounds. That'd be like propping up Love's defense because he leads the league in DRB.

Hmm...I was more into pointing out that Rodman DID contribute on offense than making a direct comparison with Love, again because some seem to think Worm was absolutely worthless on offense. But you're right, Love will have a harder time getting his own rebounds. Differents type of contributors :yeshrug:

Y'all crazy if y'all think roman had no offensive game, granted I don't think he's kevin love on offensive but if needed roman could get buckets. Rod man just had the luxury of being a specialty type player because of the teams that he was on, he did whatever was needed on the floor and to me his impact on the game was very important for every team he was on so I'm rolling wit the worm. Plus I've never seen love play in a meaningful game

Well my post was more along the line of his high ORB being due to his nature as a non-scorer compared to someone like Love. Traditionally, high scoring big men don't have mind boggling ORB numbers, save for maybe Moses who was known at time to pad his stats up :manny:

rodman is a HOF'er, got 5 rings, DPOY, multiple all star appearances, a gang of 1st team all defense.......is it really a hard decision??? :aicmon:

and rodman could score if he wanted to,but he ALWAYS deferred to the scorers on his team. and lets not act like he couldn't defend 3's, 4's and 5's.

kevin love couldn't guard an empty chair.

Yall boys silly. One is an elite rebounder and defender. One is an elite rebounder and scorer.

They completely cancel each other out.

Rodman is a HOFer because he played on great teams and got rings because of it.

nikkas acting like if you swapped Love for Rodman suddenly the Wolves are in the playoffs. :mjlol:
