Jay was rockstar status off Hard Knock Life, Black Album has mad press, he headlined that huge UK festival like 10 years ago, etc. Jay BEEN a megastar in Europe.

Brehs seem to forget that Beyoncé called Jay on her breakout single, she knew damn well she was getting that stimulus package. Jay was WAY more popular in Europe than Destiny's Child.

And the thing is that Beyoncé's can't "give Jay-Z clout" because they're not even in the same lane. People who listen to Beyoncé won't start digging in Jigga's catalogue, and people who listen to Jay-Z don't need any incetive to keep on going. Now Beyoncé being an icon outside of music obviously brings him attention, and the fact is that pop will almost always reach more people than HH. But he himself has been investing in the art world and whatnot for quite some time. So yeah probably some people know him via Beyoncé, but not sure it has that much of an impact on his moves.
